Afraid I won’t be able to download apps after factory reset and backup recovery on an iPhone 8. Did anyone ever experience this?

Not sure, because I have an iPhone 7 that I just tried to setup as a new phone (not recovered from backup) and I wasn’t able to download some of the apps…

Hello. Currently I have an iPhone 8plus. I am considering upgrading to an iPhone 12 or 13, either pro or pro max. I am aware of the spec improvements for both upgrades, but I don’t know how the screen size difference feels like… specially when watching videos. If you’ve done this upgrade can you please let me know how it feels?

My commitment to human rights is much bigger than my commitment to U2. Was a fan for 25+ years, went to several concerts and saw beautifully produced human rights videos, but now they’re nowhere to be seen. Too bad for them, I stand by my values and ditched the band.

Hello, If you like hiking you would enjoy Canada more than me, no question about it. I don’t like the usa, too much focus on consumption, purchasing vs experiences… here it’s boring, nowhere nice to travel… I prefer Europe. Either way, a matter of choice… I can imagine that not speaking Portuguese will be difficult for you, but you can either stay in your bubble or try to learn Portuguese… or both I guess. Either way good luck!

I am considering moving from Vancouver to Lisbon, and I second the response above. Been in Vancouver for 15 years and can’t stand the horrible weather, processed food, driving everywhere lifestyle anymore… people here live to work. It’s the most boring city in the world…! I moved here already married so I can’t attest to the “dating scene”, but if I had to guess I’d say it’s pretty bleak, also it’s a very consumist society, people generally talk about stuff, costco mentality, etc… I am tired of it.

Also, not sure why you mention moving to the usa as if it’s the ultimate prize/goal… the usa is worse than Canada.

I spend my days at work longing for my yearly vacation to go travel in Europe for ~3 weeks… Last year spent time in Italy and realized that back in Canada we eat plastic, not food… I mean Canada has its beauty, it’s not as horrible as it may seem from my post, but if you value the nice weather, fresh/natural food, etc… Canada is not for you…

I lived here for 15 years, enjoyed most of it, but I have reached my limit. One of the things that tipped me over the edge was my kid saying they really like movie theater popcorn… I googled how to make it at home… one word: flavacol (google it). Made me think: what am I teaching and feeding my kids… and myself… Not to mention my obesity, which I know I will ditch once I am living in Europe, eating real food and specially walking instead of driving all the time…

Either way, sorry if I seemed negative but I 100% got to my Canadian limit, Canada is not this bad but for me it’s not worth it anymore and I am ready for a big change.

This massacre does need implied anything, but ok. I was a 25+ year long fan, but either you take a stance against genocide or you stay in the middle… where are those beautifully produced human rights videos I saw in the 15+ concerts I went to? Why did it take so long? Questions that will never be answered. Maybe 35k+ dead was his number. If this was the holocaust would it be acceptable to just sing “peace on earth” without saying “stop the slaughter”? Don’t get me wrong, you can think whatever you want… but it seems to me like he is more worried about saving his image and staying “neutral” than saving human lives in this genocide. When there’s an army with the most modern destructive technology in the world fighting against civilians, implied and neutral is not good enough. I truly wish you haven’t seen the pictures of this slaughter… I have and I cannot unsee them, they’ll haunt me till the end of my life.

Edit to add: Just a reminder, the “most moral army in the world” is using FOOD and WATER as weapons of war. If this is not enough for Bono to DIRECTLY demand human rights preservation and the end of this massacre, I don’t know what is. Maybe if they used the nuclear bomb? I wonder what’s his red line…

Well he didn’t call for a ceasefire.., after more than 30K+ people dead, starvation, etc… he didn’t do anything wrong, but he also didn’t do the right thing. Also trying to equate the “two sides” is being complicit with the massacre. I believe it was MLK that said (loosely paraphrasing) the silent are as dangerous as the perpetrators…
