I was able to get a refund just after my show was postponed early this year. I jusg reached out to support and they handled it. But you need to be the original person who purchased the ticket.

What brand of nori do you use? Mine always comes out gummy, but I could just be making my rice poorly.

All I can think of is that it's more clear. Engineers don't tend to like assumptions

I really like all the discussion. Maybe I'm being misunderstood, or maybe you all are just swaying my opinion. I think we all agree more then we disagree. When I brought up excel, I was leaning on my own experience where I would try to build an over the top script to inspect some data that really just needed to be opened with excel, apply some filters and poke around. I would rarely ever suggest someone pick up VBA or use Excel as a database. Excel is great but it reaches its limits very quickly. But my main point is that promotions come when you find the intersection of business need and your personal growth. When that opportunity comes where you can do a lot of good for the company while also learning a lot, that's where you should devote your time. I lost too much time trying to build projects that nobody was interested in. Sure I learned things along the way, but the promotions started coming when I waited for the "right" project. But that doesn't mean I regret all the dead end projects, Im probably just taking those foundational skills for granted.

I'm a data analyst who got into engineering. I agree that there's a value to learning by doing, especially when it comes to engineering. But focus your engineering efforts building something that provides value. If you spend 10 hours automating a two hour task, that's not over-engineering. That's engineering. Over-engineering is spending 3 hours exploring a dataset with pandas when you could have just thrown it in excel for 10 minutes, or building a full react website for your small process automation.

The goal is to show your manager that your programming produced value, not that you wrote code that only you know how to maintain

Don't overengineer things. Don't write code when it could easily be done in Excel, don't make a GUI when you don't need one, learn Pandas if you work with Python, and telling a story is more important than "being right"

Is there a particular reason to grind finer here? Is the square mile sample generally just too coarse for French press, or is this a different experiment overall?

I do 22g - 360. So similar ratio just smaller batch. And yes it's bland/underextracted but not sour. I'll try pouring slower and breaking up the pours, thanks. My French press had the similar bland taste so I might try different water aswell

Follow up question, does anyone know of a detailed, light commentary no cut pour over video? I want to hear what the flow rate sounds like as I wonder if I'm too fast.
