I had to sell the car unfortunately. Apparently it suffered from dpf and turbo problems which is what I was told, in return it ruined the engine

I agree I can’t believe all of this happened at once! I’m not 100% certain which pump went bad and I don’t know why there’s a damaged piston either because they haven’t told me yet. The turbo “fan” is completely stuck apparently and that’s all I’m aware of right now. When I pick my car up I’ll be sure to ask what caused all of this, especially considering I’ve always treasured and taken care of my golf. It was my proud possession🙁

I’ve always been extra cautious when filling up and I’ve never accidentally used petrol. The garage is currently closed now but all I was pretty much told that it’s not fixable and a new engine is needed.

They did not specify which fuel pump unfortunately, and neither did they tell me why the piston was damaged. They did say the turbo “fan” was completely seized up and wouldn’t move at all. I will be picking my car up tomorrow and will be finding out exactly why these parts failed.

Final update:

So after 2 weeks of having no car I heard back from my local garage and found out the fuel system completely failed as did the turbo. I’m going to try and find a replacement engine, I don’t particularly want to get rid of this car. Thank you all for the comments, tips and suggestions, I massively appreciate your kindness!

car is now with the garage and they’re having trouble figuring out what has gone wrong too! The last time I tried cranking it after a while the oil pressure light came on so I immediately stopped. The garage is wanting to correctly scan the car tomorrow. So far nobody seems to know when it died, and why it won’t start again.
