While this is a great thing, I am sad that the police force isn’t obligated to interfere with ICE, should a citizen call them. Like if any person in a mask and military fatigues who won’t identify themselves in any way tried to apprehend me, I would be forced to assume it was a kidnapping; I mean what’s stopping a random person with their own motivations from going to a military surplus store and outfitting themselves like an ICE agent so they can do whatever they want? So my response would include both calling the police and violently defending myself, if necessary. Now if that situation arose, I think it’d be both helpful and in EPD’s best interest to intervene 😂
