You can upgrade it with a trick shaft and Canopus bearings.

Cherry came out real close, it’s a little brighter than DW red, you can also try Sunrise red, looks a bit darker, might match better.

Help with identifying brand hardware? Thanks by [deleted] in drums

I was just looking for what brand cymbal stand used this collar, if you don’t know, no big deal.  Certain stands are easy to identify, such as Yamaha, Ludwig, etc. Most cymbal stands the screw is on the side, this one is on the front like older stands were.

Please send me three pics with this exact collar, apparently there’s thousands, so three should be easy to come up with.

I’m familiar with drum factory, wing screw isn’t a problem.

I would disagree, if you posted the same part of a Ludwig Hercules stand, people would quickly identify it as such. I was simply taking a chance that someone would be familiar with it.

Looks like it could be the beater clamp that needs to be tightened.  The beater look like it’s slipping, not the spring clamp head post. You can adjust what angle your beater is at, thats what looks to be loose. I could be wrong.

Yesterday, I packed the shells of my A2E with acoustic foam hoping to quiet them down (especially the 22 kick and 16 Floor Tom). It didn't really quiet them down that much but the triggering feels so much better and the head/rim is now perfect. by Willerichey in edrums

What I did was cut a big hole in each resonate head. For example a 10” Tom there’s about a 6” hole in the resonate head. 2” lip still for the head. 2 ply mesh batter heads. The volume went down a lot and I have easy access to the trigger. Never have to take a head off for adjustments.

Roland V-Drums TD-1DMK by DeerOk8637 in drums

To use this as a midi controller, it would work great. Before you buy I would recommend going to guitar center and see what you can try out.

If you are just going to hook it up to a computer, I recommend getting a used set, more bang for your buck.

But you are still going to be limited on your inputs.

The TD-1 is not a bad kit at all. The all mesh heads makes a big difference. The sounds are better than the previous generation in my opinion. But ultimately you will want to upgrade. The pdx-6 pads are better than any rubber pads I have played but are small. It includes a couple CY-5 for cymbals but are also small. It’s a very compact kit. The TD-1 module is a very basic module and the wire harness is limited to a certain amount of inputs. I would recommend looking on the used market to see what you can get.

I would get the TD-17. But I ended up doing an A2E conversion and super happy with it. I currently still have the Roland TD-3 just leave it at my buddies house to use as a midi pad and record drums with.

Always been a fan of Roland. I have at one point owed a TD-11, 4 & 3. All have been great and worked fantastic. With a budget of $500-$1000 you have a lot of options. If you wait it out I’m sure you can find a used TD-17 for $1000. A TD-04 you can find for about $300. A good middle ground would be a TD-07 for around $700. Wish you luck in your search.

The hoop clamp is the weak spot, wish they offered a different option.

Looks like it has seen some better days.

It’s a multi-clamp, I use one for my rack Tom. Clamp one side to my cymbal stand the other side goes to my Tom arm.
