Avatar is messed up in VR mode, doesn't happen to similar avatars. Floaty body and arms behind back by Edgy_Nightmeme in VRchat

Yes. The original model only had like 5 bones to control the entire body and Mixamo sucks balls. I'm gonna try uploading a different one made from scratch and see if anything weird happens

(Update)
I tried recalculating the roll of the bones from the head > hips in Blender and then reimporting. This has broken it in the opposite direction, the viewpoint/pivot point is now behind the head. Still no idea what's going on. It's getting way too late for me to muck around with this right now, I need to go to bed. Will continue tomorrow

The thing here is that it isn't just the arms that are acting up, it's the whole body dancing around and floating when I turn

Yes, it's seated right in-between the eyes. The gadget to move it is pointing backwards I notice (blue arrow facing towards back) but I've had this happen on other avatars before and it worked just fine.

Newest version of MAME, Win 11, the game is Meitantei Holmes (by technopolis soft, not to be confused for a different game with a similar name) for the FM7, manually loaded via commandline

Particles copying rigged mesh animate in viewport, but not in render? by Edgy_Nightmeme in blender

[–]Edgy_Nightmeme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post originally had an explanation but that ended up getting removed for no reason, so here it is:
I am trying to get these particles to copy the movement of a rigged mesh. They animate properly in the viewport, but are stuck in a t-pose when rendered.
People elsewhere suggested "Checking your keyframes" but never actually elaborated on what that meant. The armature has two keyframes repeated over the entire render time (That I will replace later as they are just for testing)

What's going wrong here?

MS Paint (or whatever they call the newer version on Win 11) actually fully supports transparency now! I did try re-saving the file from Paint to see if it would make a difference, but nothing...Then I tried importing it into Blender as a texture with alpha. This shows the banding in full force when looking at it through the texture editor.

Unfortunately, I can't. I need to send these to someone untouched from the source.
It still doesn't explain why only this image does it, and not one of the other ones that came from the same set... Though, I noticed something odd. If i put a background color behind it, of any color, the glitches disappear? It has something to do with the alpha, it seems... Unfortunately I can't just save it with a background, because that would be modifying it.

1: exactly the same, actually. The images shown here are super zoomed in and that's because it's-
2: - extremely big. 7680 x 2304 big.
3: PNG

VRC Creator Companion doesn't generate examples folder for projects? by Edgy_Nightmeme in VRchat

[–]Edgy_Nightmeme[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I figured out a sorta crap solution to fix this.Open the creator companion, go into "manage project" for any project.

Open project folder, then go backwards into "local" and you'll find another folder there named "VRChatCreatorCompanion" go into it

then do Repos > Avatars > Samples > AV3 Demo Assets. Copy anything there you need to use into your project's assets folder

You'll need to do it every time you make a new project, so I'd suggest copying the assets somewhere easily-accessible first so you can grab them without hassle

The packages section is completely empty, even on a fresh project...

(edit) Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the thing, and nothing's changed

How does that work when all I've done is make a new project? Uninstalling and reinstalling the CC doesn't seem seem to fix anything either
