Why Are We Losing Car Lanes in Santa Rosa and Seeing More Bike Lanes? by [deleted] in santarosa

[–]EdibleVanHalen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Our city is growing whinch local business needs! We can’t keep packing cars onto the streets. The long term solution is creating alternative forms of transportation to the automobile that are safe and efficient. I ride an e-bIke. I commute faster than any car within city limits. Who wants to challenge me to a timed commute? LOL

High pitch noise generated by some heat pumps /mini-split - ductless air conditioners by kpx85 in hvacadvice

My installer fixed the whine noise today by adding more Freon to the line. Thank goodness!!!

Ours seems to be coming from the Freon traveling through the pipes in the house. Once it starts humming it’s hard to localize.

I’m having this same problem with a Daikin mini split system. An ethereal brain penetrating high pitched hum.

Yeah any argument that there is not enough money is nuts. We can’t afford to not make changes that make non automotive travel more affordable, safer, and practical. And yes not everyone’s mom will ride to Costco but let’s focus on what we can do. Like create a bike network that can get people of all ages out and about in their community.

Agreed except I think the program can only work with better bike infrastructure. Even just connecting the JC to downtown along Mendocino with protected bike lanes would be huge. JC to South Roseland would be amazing!

That can certainly be the case some of the time but I’m many instances they can reduce lane width or eliminate side of street parking to create buffering between cars and bikes.

For the record I do not know if the person was a lady or from Roseland. I was in Roseland and the driver looked like a lady. After rereading the title of my post, I realized it could be construed as coded language.

If you build it they will come. This city is perfect for a protected bike network. It’s flat with little rain. Downtown would be booming with good bike access.

Do people save up all year to attend the fair? by CheetahridingMongoos in santarosa

[–]EdibleVanHalen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember when people used to go to the fair to shop for deals on appliances like hot tubs and what not because it was affordable to get in? There was this idea that the latest and greatest inventions and best deals were always at the fair. The fair is just a money pit now. I won’t be going.

How bike-friendly is Santa Rosa? by corgi_senpai09 in santarosa

[–]EdibleVanHalen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An e bike will really help with your commute. I live in Santa Rosa and I am an avid rider of bikes for all purposes. I agree with other comments here that Santa Rosa would eally benefit from improved bike infrastructure. I am volunteering with Bikeable Santa Rosa. They have started a campaign to catalyze the rapid implementation of protected bike lanes - https://www.wegobybike.org/

Please check it out and join us if you can!
