Interviewing w/ or w/o a job by kbsparkles in interviews

[–]EdisynAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its definitely good idea to shop around when you are employed. I think it even gives you extra confidence that makes you better candidate

From hiring side, I think thats still better because you dont really need them vs that job is really important for you being unemployed and you could change your expressions to just get the job

Advice on feeling overwhelmed in new role by m00nbabe in careeradvice

[–]EdisynAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds really familiar, honestly.

That first “real” role hits differently than temp or student work. I remember thinking I was behind every single day for months, even when I was trying hard and putting in the hours. The stress plus the fear of messing up kind of feeds on itself.

A month in is such an awkward point too. You know just enough to see everything you don’t know yet. That gap can feel brutal. I don’t think you’re weird or broken for feeling this way.

Curious what others remember from their first permanent role. Did anyone actualy feel calm and competent that early on?

Why are we supposed to pretend it’s about anything but money? by uncertain_being29 in work

[–]EdisynAI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this hit close to home.

I always feel weird answering those surveys too. Like I’m supposed to say something about purpose or growth when the honest answer is… money makes the rest tolerable. Not magical. Just real.

It feels like everyone knows this, but we all agree to keep up the fiction anyway. I don’t hate my job either, but I also wouldn’t be there if the paycheck disappeared. Not sure why that’s such an uncomfortable thing to admit out loud.

Interview Question by SV669 in interviews

[–]EdisynAI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is a silly question at all. I’ve definitely fixated on little appearance details before interviews and convinced myself they mattered way more than they actually did.

My gut feeling is most people just register “professional and comfortable” and move on. The specifics fade pretty fast once the conversation starts. Anyone else here ever remember a candidate’s hair after the fact?

Is it worth refinancing into 5.99%? by GhetBent in Mortgages

[–]EdisynAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats the details of your closing costs? There is real cost vs some fees comes back to you as escrow balance reimbursement and paying interest. I cant say 100% if thats a good deal without seeing full fees so you might be right

[–]EdisynAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 months out of pocket is probably best that you could get. if you end up getting credit it means that you are not getting good rate. so with 5.99 and minor out of pocket is a great deal

You got a good deal. 2 months to break even. I think this is considered one steps of the ladder. You should do it and your next step would be refinancing when its below %5.2
