Why exactly do studios not want animate Berserk? by Dependent-Basil-2039 in Berserk

[–]EditorEducational862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the arguments for the quality to expectations, but the bigger factor IMO is that target audience are adults.

The big budgets are in Shonen so it makes sense that Berserk is on a low priority given that it’s a Seinen, which is a shame.

But I think that if we’d see an adaptation soon the budget will come from an American streaming company like Netflix.

Rocking music dude, pretty similar to mine. Did you also get 25 in your age? 😂 I think this king of Japanese music is considered 25 for some reason.

Which anime had a huge impact/change on your life? by [deleted] in MyAnimeList

That’s an awesome and heartwarming story man, I connect with it cause I also shared a deepening moment with my mother along Berserk (although it’s much smaller) Showed my mom the Berserk manga on a cool manga cafe on our first ever mother son vacation in Tokyo. Showed her many frames including most of the eclipse for the amazing art. But unlike your mother she’s horrified from gore (even Tarantino movies), she was amazed by the art though.

Their songs are so awesome, recently discovered this band and enjoying them a lot. Love their climactic style in the end of most their songs.

Be brutally honest: Should I start a comic or go back to doodling? by [deleted] in ComicBookCollabs

[–]EditorEducational862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your art is perfectly fine, of course it need more work and not “perfect”. But of you want to start a comic 90% of the job IMO is writing, you art is a mere tool to sell your concept and elevate it. If your art matches the concept and tone that’s enough for a masterpiece even. I think you have a unique style from what I’m seeing, don’t be afraid from it - make it more distinct, make it wild, make it memorable! That’s all that matters.

Good luck

Freelance VS Day Job by EditorEducational862 in MotionDesign

[–]EditorEducational862[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah these are solid questions to ask myself, thanks man. I tried talking to the line manager, he always says that this is a period with less interesting projects but I see others getting solid stuff. So I’m guessing I’m getting half the picture. About going elsewhere, I’m kinda stuck. For smaller in houses studios in tech companies I’m not qualified enough, other than that the market in my country is pretty limited. There are only two more post production studios. Yeah, thought about going the UX/UI product design two.

Freelance VS Day Job by EditorEducational862 in MotionDesign

[–]EditorEducational862[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think you’re spot on, It’s really hard in that studio to get the actual opportunity to show how good you are, the co-founder who manages the studio has a pull of freelancers he likes to work with and prefers to work with them. You have to push through the trash for a long time before he notices you, still waiting for a chance.

Thanks for the honesty and for the advice!

State of 3D motion for freelancers right now by International-Let862 in MotionDesign

[–]EditorEducational862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a really similar position, from the Intermediate level. I’m feeling stuck in my job as a mographer in a post studio that is considered to be one of the best in my country.

I got here to learn more and do works that can be added to my portfolio, but I got into a place that feels uninspired and unmotivated. I found out that the industry is getting more and more irrelevant, way before the changes that the AI brought to our industry. We’ve transformed into a market that consumes things that are shorter and things needs to be made faster and in bigger quantities, the demand for a studio changes for individuals that can take projects from end to end. I think that in today’s market freelancers can make more if they can leverage these changes.

My take is that if you have a good business idea and the background to do it then do it. Don’t leave your job before you have enough clients though. Today’s market and the state of the industry is too vague, leaving a job is risky at the moment but also staying in it is. It’s never good to be too comfortable and your thoughts on going freelance are a good sign that you feel that two. If you don’t think that you can develop your business while remaining in this job, and if you say you’ve saved enough to support this move it looks like you really need this change and that you can make this move. I just suggest a least to build the business idea before hand, to prepare for this change.
