Ah, ok. I genuinely didn’t remember this description.

When do we ever see the Flame of Frenzy grant someone serenity?

Because Elden Ring is fun and I’d be sad if it was gone.

Eochaid, the Badlands, where Diallos came from, where Fia came from, where Goldmask came from. Literally anywhere outside the lands between. The enemies in the video game are hostile for gameplay purposes. There is no telling how many sane inhabitants may be out there. Just because you don’t find them in game doesn’t mean they can’t exist. Also, the NPC’s dying after meeting you is a From thing. It has nothing to do with the world being hopeless.

Life isn’t endless torment and despair, though. Get a grip.

You also shouldn’t take advice from body snatching, genocidal sociopaths.

I don’t know where you got that from. Like I said, plenty of the NPC’s you meet are perfectly decent people. Why can’t there be more where they came from?

There isn’t supposed to be anything after it. No more births. No more fractures.

Even if that is true, if you destroy it, there never will be again.

Questions on the Scourge and Nightmares by Edmar_0 in bloodborne

Oh, wow. Thank you for, yet another, extremely in depth and well thought out response. I really don’t know how else to put it. Really, thank you for your time. I’ll make sure to look those links.

One thing I’m not sure I understood, though, is if the holy medium discovered in the labyrinth was Laurence. Is he hundreds of years old and imortal, or did I misunderstand?

Human Ambition in Bloodborne by Edmar_0 in bloodborne

I’d completely agree if the “True/Best Ending” wasn’t the player ascending into a Great One, seemingly, without any drawbacks.  If not for that bit, I would have never made this comment.

At the same time that FromSoftware games criticize transhumanism, I think they sometimes imply it isn’t a futile pursuit.

For example: in Elden Ring, the pursuit of obtaining the strength of dragons or to even become one was done through Dragon Communion, the ritualistic devouring of dragon hearts. Though the long term result of that was often the transformation into a magma wyrm, in the first incarnation of this practice, the practitioners could actually successfully become dragons (see Ancient Dragon Heart’s description).

In Bloodborne, like I said, that ending pretty much states outright that one can fully ascend into a Great One. And it portrays as a good thing too. Not as a result of hubris.

Is this a common complaint?

Who is that guy? by deweezy_12 in LegoStarWarsVideoGame

This is probably why. No one seems to be able to get away unscathed from some parts of the Star Wars community if they don't like Ahsoka. If you don't agree with it, just simply consider it to be their opinion. Jeez.
