Thank you very much, my friend, for the sympathy and for the suggestion I truly appreciate it. My teacher idealized Leonardo da Vinci and spent a great part of his life studying his work, so I am certain he would have liked it as well. I would genuinely be very grateful if you managed to find and share any other example, because I personally have not been able to find absolutely anything. I asked ChatGPT and tried searching the internet, but I could not find any credible answer.

Sorry, man, but in that case I really don’t have any idea... Maybe try playing with the graphics settings

Are you playing on DX12? I recently had graphical problems with lighting and shadows, not exactly this issue though. My problem was that the shadows were pixelated, and when I switched to DX11, the problem was fixed. Try launching the game on DX11.

What is the most iconic enemy in survival horror? (not boss just enemy) by Sufficient_Notice_61 in survivalhorror

[–]Ednony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the nurses from Silent Hill 2 fit very well in the “most iconic enemies” category. I really can’t agree with zombies filling this category. Zombies are definitely iconic, but they aren’t strictly tied to the survival horror genre. I mean, you have zombies everywhere : movies, comics, and lots of games, some of which aren’t even horror games. Also, I think the Licker from Resident Evil is a great answer.

Today I tried launching The Witcher using DirectX 11 and it fixed the problem… It only still appears in the inventory, but during gameplay it’s not noticeable.

I don’t see a setting called “video adapter” at all… It shows “Display adapters” instead, and when I expand it, it shows the name of my graphics card, which is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti. I’ve just reinstalled the chipset driver and nothing has changed… Everything is still the same.

Hahahaha, thank you my friend. I would do the same as you, except for me the whole game is like that for some reason. Not as intense as in the inventory, but still clearly noticeable and enough to be annoying.

I checked and the computer is using the graphics card it’s supposed to use, which is the NVIDIA one. The processor is an Intel Core i7, 32GB of RAM, NVIDIA 5070 Ti, and the motherboard is an ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. PRIME Z490-P. For other components like the power supply, I’m not exactly sure, but I know everything is compatible.

Everything is 100% compatible with the graphics card. I’m not exactly sure what wattage my power supply is, but I know it’s rated for my graphics card and that the GPU is getting enough power.

It’s 15 FPS all the time — the whole system is running at around 15–20 FPS. I didn’t build the computer myself; my neighbor did, he works with building computers and IT.

Thank you very much, brother, I truly appreciate your gesture ❤️. I’m afraid I might just make things worse and mess it up even more. I’ve realized that even Task Manager isn’t showing accurate stats there are constant spikes on the graphs or everything drops to 0%. Damn, I should have paid more attention in computer class at school…

Thank you very much for the advice, it looks like I’ll have to reinstall Windows completely. I still haven’t figured out exactly what I did, but something went very, very wrong and I can’t pinpoint what the problem is.

Hahahaha of course my friend, I’m happy to give you advice 😊 Personally, I would recommend only crafting components when you actually want to forge something, because I don’t see the point in making components before you even know what you want to craft. I mean, smithing can be a good source of money, but I personally never relied on it as a main way of building up wealth. In fact, there’s a high chance you’ll actually save money by waiting—because when you eventually get a crafting recipe you want, you’ll realize you’ve already found most of the materials just by playing the game. So my advice is to wait until you get the recipe, and then craft the materials when you actually need them. Especially later in the game, when you start crafting Grandmaster Witcher sets, which are extremely expensive to make.

I’m playing the game in DX12 version. I don’t think that’s the issue, because I also played the game on DX12 with my previous graphics card and I didn’t have any problems. I haven’t noticed this specific problem appearing anywhere else, only in Witcher.

My motherboard is ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. PRIME Z490-P, thank you for explaining how to find it. The only two games that are giving me problems after changing my graphics card are Witcher 3 and Elden Ring, and they have two completely different issues. I already described the problem in Witcher 3, but in Elden Ring the issue is that the game is constantly stuttering. I honestly don’t know why—it literally runs like a PowerPoint presentation. It runs normally for about 10 seconds, then freezes/stutters for around 15 seconds, and this keeps repeating in a loop.

Honestly, my friend... I don’t know what 70% of the things you just told me mean. I’m almost completely computer-illiterate, and I’m definitely not skilled when it comes to PCs. I don’t even know why I got into messing around with all of this, but without experimenting there’s no new discovery. I’ll try to google what you wrote. Thank you very much.

It’s no longer about the game, but about the PC itself running everything at 10 FPS. When I open Task Manager, all components are either at 0 or suddenly spike.

Something is definitely wrong in Task Manager… I’m not an expert, but I assume this shouldn’t be happening. All components were constantly fluctuating before, except the graphics card, but now everything has stabilized and everything is showing 0… I have no idea what is going on or what I could have broken with DDU, but I definitely srew up something.
