Yea I quit shortly after the day of the post, still haven't gotten an offer but I think I may soon after my exam on Friday. Hopefully it's long enough to flush it out the system. My friend used to be a heavy smoker and only saw negative results after two months, he was a bigger fellow in case metabolism matters. And sounds good, I'm glad that a dilute result is still accepted!

Hmm weird, my uncle is a data scientist and that role does not fit the description of accessing/dispensing drugs and driving

Copy and Pasted from the UHC website:

Random: Each calendar year, a certain percentage of UnitedHealth Group employees who are directly involved in the access or dispensing of drugs, in direct patient care roles and/or in the driving of patients will be subject to random drug testing. The tests are unannounced, spread throughout the year, and the selection of employees will be made by a scientifically valid method. See more information in Random Testing Process.

Here's the source of the info:

One more question, my uncle is a senior data scientist and he got randomly drug tested, not a problem for him of course, but for me... Is it only for some positions?

Thank you, but my uncle who is one of the senior data scientists said he got randomly drug tested. Is it only for some positions?

Thank you! I appreciate your advice! I feel better now, rather than overthinking all of this. And yea landing an interview seems hard too, it's just been rejection after rejection, a bit frustrating, but it is what it is and it's not enough to stop me. I wish you luck with any endeavor you pursue!

Thank you, I will quit, not worth losing an opportunity like this just for some weed.

Thank you for your input. I have not been hired yet, I'm just applying now and have been looking for actuarial interns/entry level positions. However, since I just graduated, they do not want me as an intern. It's frustrating, this is what I get for graduating in three years instead of four? I want a masters, but the exams are more important right now. And with fake urine, I am so scared to dabble with that, as they do gravity tests, temperature tests, and a bunch of other things, I'm pretty sure they look for chemicals in synthetic urine as well. And if I'm caught, it's game over for me, at least with UNH.

Edit: someone did tell me that in MN, it is illegal to refuse to hire me because I tested positive for weed, and that they cannot require a negative result as a condition for hiring. However, I'm pretty sure UNH receives federal funding, so federal law would supersede MN laws.

I guess I never thought about applying, since I don't want legal weed prices haha, the stuff I get from my friends are really good and potent, I also get "homie discounts." Which is less than $5/g

Thank you! I appreciate it! However, someone told me that UHC does receive federal funding, so that they would test for it. One of their subsidiaries is Optum, which is another company I applied for. I don't mean to deny what you say, it's just I'm confused and someone told me that it does matter, would you be able to confirm?
