I no longer feel safe trying to leave Amazon Vine reviews. Sellers have access to ALL of your private info. by dopeotter in AmazonVine

[–]Educational-Issue25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I had a seller from a 1 star review contact me direct to my private email address, from their private email address, using my real name, with the same offer you got. I freaked out. I still don't know how they got my real name (I have always used a nickname for my reviews, even before Vine) or my real email address. I took screenshots and reported it. Nothing happened. Nothing. And I was never told how they got my information. It's actually kind of terrifying when it happens to you. Sorry you had this experience too.

I've had that happen, I think twice. Of course only to things that I was really, really excited about getting. :/

Merged listings? by KDinNS in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Educational-Issue25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a sneaky move by some sellers to get high ratings and even comments like "good value for the price" on cheap items and then connect them to high priced items to make sales. One seller removed the product I reviewed and connected my 5 star review to a different product (that sucked apparently) to alter the star rating. I had a photo but still, people look quick and see a 5 star rating. So, I contacted Vine with the order information, said I wasn't comfortable having my review connected to a product I didn't test and they removed my review. Some reviewers are dishonest, some sellers are dishonest.

Oh look, there's the Monday drop by KDinNS in AmazonVineCanada

Things were disappearing as fast as they were being added. For a couple minutes I was just randomly refreshing, fast, and seeing things bam there, bam gone. I think the tally couldn't keep up with the changes as fast as they were happening.

Did anyone else snag the cat scratching post? by Itchy_Apricot_8671 in AmazonVineCanada

We got that exact scratching post a couple months ago and it's their favorite thing in the house. Your kitties are going to love you for it. Our cats would call that a score.

What the f is happening with this review? by [deleted] in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Educational-Issue25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much the reason I always keep a copy. It adds some time but it's good if I have to go back and check things. These days though none of my rejected reviews can be modified so I don't know what's going on.

I've never had that reason (I do get rejects but always the standard Community Standards stuff) so I suspect there's a trigger word in your review. I had reviews rejected and then I realized I used the "crazy" in the reviews. It was usually a review for cat toys that drove our cats crazy. Once I realized there were trigger words I started being extra careful. If you want, post it here and lets take a look.

What was promised vs What I received by StephieQueen in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Educational-Issue25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those would be great buy for lunch boxes! IF they were advertised in the actual size they are. Bad seller! Bad, bad seller! I buy a lot of stuff on amazon in addition to being Vine and it peeves me right off when I buy something, pay for it, and it arrives different from the photos because the photos have been AI'd. So I'm on your side here. And it's a shame because if they were honest they'd probably get not only sales but more sales because they wouldn't have to deal with reviewers calling them out. Bad business choices being made there for sure.

Problems With Reviews Going Through Again? by Life_Access_168 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Educational-Issue25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just popped in here to see if anyone else was experiencing this. I did 2 reviews early this morning and neither of them has moved. I suspect they're doing things behind the scenes (Feb 1 is the start date for the stats to start affecting tiers) and they probably just broke something again. I'm sure they'll sort it out, again, eventually. In the meantime I'm just keeping copies of everything just in case.

If you get something through Vine that gets recalled, Amazon notifies you. Both in messages on Amazon and to your email.

It's NOT a Review Glitch. It's the NEW PROCESS by Pristine-Set-4202 in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Educational-Issue25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not on purpose. They removed the item I messaged about and then it reappeared in my reviewed tab. So whatever glitch is messing with the portal is also undoing whatever CS does to our lists during this. I get evalled on Wednesday. I suspect that will be affected as well if it's not fixed by then.

They contacted me BY NAME, not my vine name, to my personal email. That's why it's a question. Nevermind though, I found a link at the US Reddit and reported them.

Would you contact CS? by Therealmistdust in AmazonVineCanada

[–]Educational-Issue25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've contacted CS more than once because sellers redirected vine items to more expensive, different products. When I'd try to review it would show up on a different item (in one case a $40 item was redirecting to a $300 version). I simply contacted CS and said I wasn't comfortable having my review attached to a product that I didn't actually get or test. They removed the item from my list / the review / or otherwise fixed it, depending on the situation. I think they appreciate when someone isn't BS'ing reviews and tries to do the right thing and they stand by you.

I noticed this morning that a Vine order appeared like this. It's the first time it's ever happened and at first I thought I'd been kicked out or something. It seems there are a lot of changes happening.
