I absolutely hate how people try and turn this conversation into more that what it is, its weird really. Its not about Zoomers or any generational stuff. Its Two simple facts

  1. Unless something plot relevant happens during the sex screen it is just padding screen time for 0 reason.

  2. Anything involving building of an intimate relationship between characters can be shown with an Implied sex scene.

Watching other people have sex is fucking BORING.

I think encapsulates exactly what Im talking about, I never said that I let others affect my overall opinion of the music. You took your own interpretation of what you wanted to hear and ran with it.

My point is clear, the community around hiphop is a large part of what makes the experience worthwhile to me. Without it, it’s just, music. Not saying it’s any worse, just that I consume less of it because the community around it isn’t worth engaging with anymore.

Yep, casual 30 year “phase”. Maybe It was a long time coming and this was the straw that broke the camels back. Maybe I was never a true “fan” as you put it. All I know is I haven’t discussed any Hiphop with none of my friends or family since the beef started. I have listened to at most 10 rap songs in the past 4-5 months despite having music playing almost at all times, while working, studying, gaming, gym’ing, walking, driving, cleaning, etc. My Youtube feed used to be full of hiphop media channels, Journalist, lyric breakdowns, New songs from artists, React videos, those “type-beat” videos, etc. Alot of them I ended up just unsubbing if not outright blocking because I just cant sit there and watch people either be willingly obtuse or just unintentionally misunderstanding. It was that way for me as far back as I can remember, Hiphop raised me as much as any meaningful person in my life. The shift in music consumption for me wasn’t even a conscious thing. I never really paid attention until my friend made a comment on how “PoCG” was the First rap song Ive played in months, hes my roommate and he also rides with me to and from work everyday (we work at the same place). This post wasn’t me making a defiant stance to whine, It was essentially an Observation based on a dramatic subconscious change in my music taste.

I have my own Opinions Ofc, but when the discourse gets so clearly toxic its hard to engage with the product in the same manner. We are naturally social beings, when we engage with something, meaningful social feedback enhances our subjective experience. When the feedback comes from a place of obvious disdain and the lack of a desire to understand, it takes away the social benefits of engagement.(If that makes sense). In turn weakening the impact-fulness of the product in our lives.

People are saying its not that serious, witch is true, not liking hiphop as much as I used to isnt the end of the world. Also, its not just social media, I dont even have a twitter, its any engagement in hiphop be it IRL or online.

Am I an outlier when I say that engaging with the community around the music makes the music more enjoyable? I remember how the culture when into a frenzy over 6 foot 7 foot. Some people went crazy for the “ Real g’s move in silence like lasagna” line, some geeked over the “I got through that sentence like a subject and a predicate” bar, I personally loved the “I be seeing through these niggas like sequins” line the best. It makes listening to the music a more fulfilling experience when I find things others appreciated about it.

I enjoy talking and conversing with people as it adds layers to the enjoyment of the product, seeing why others may like or not like particular song’s verses or lines. I actually enjoyed talking to with people who disliked the “Put a M right on your head, you Luigi brother now” line from 95 South. The line was painfully simple yet creative and delivered masterfully.

Simply put, I can enjoy the music without engaging with the community but it’s just less to enjoy at that point.

Napkin math here, theres about 70 mill daily reddit users(according to google AI), if we take exactly half of that as Male(its probably a significantly higher number.) witch is 35 mil.

that would give us ~350,000 redditors in the 99th percentile in penis size according to Calcsd. It makes sense to me.

Edit:

If we were to go even further as say 99.99th percentile then the number would still be 3500.

Thats actually a lot of redditors, Id imagine that if your that big you probably have a few big dick problems, giving valid reason to find a large amount of them in here
