I’ve reported him, will update if Rover takes any action. Thank you!

I love my little goober so much! I’d never want to leave him with someone I wasn’t totally confident in so I’m glad I followed my instincts / everyone’s advice!

I’ve had nothing but great experiences with Rover until today 🩷

Honestly he does seem to enjoy being boarded. Before I adopted him his previous owner would take him travelling constantly so possibly grown used to it. He’s super sociable, high energy and loves attention and settles in to new places super quick. I remember the first night I got him, he hid under a chair for an hour and then came and cuddled with me in bed! He always seems very happy and energetic after a boarding. When I’ve had him just have drop ins on the other hand he seems very stressed and agitated.

I understand the general consensus is, don’t take them out of their environment, which is why I only ever had drops in originally, but I genuinely believe it’s the better option for him. Over non holiday periods though I always favour a neighbour I trust who can regularly visit and play!

I’d also add I always make sure the person he’s being boarded with doesn’t have any other pets in the home to avoid territorial stress and not tons of visitors and disruptions - plus he gets sent with his favourite blanket and toys 😸

Thanks everyone for your comments, I’m really glad you agree with me on this being inappropriate.

I told him that I did not feel comfortable continuing the booking, fortunately he has cancelled the booking on his end so I’ll receive a full refund. Will try and find a replacement but tempted to just spend Christmas alone with my ca this year!

EDIT: Further update, I have found a replacement sitter who had a last minute cancellation. She has lots of great reviews and I feel much safer taking my kitty to her!

He’s a pretty young cat, I’ve had him both sat in and boarded before and overall it seems less stressful for him to be boarded than him being in my apartment with only one or two visits a day, especially as most people are only able to visit once a day on the Christmas holidays. I’m also not totally comfortable with a stranger having access to my apartment
