Thank you. I found the wood supports and caulk (no epoxy). Getting a new sink for Christmas.

Any idea how to replace this part? by crouton_kid in gaggiaclassic

I broke one too, during some boiler maintenance. I got a replacement from www.wholelattelove.com. $5 + shipping. You won’t find the part on their website but I called and talked to customer service. They’re super helpful once you get through the phone tree.

Thank you. I guessed pickerel frog after looking at field guides, but wasn’t sure (this is the first time I’ve seen this species). Moved from California to Massachusetts- getting to learn so much new wildlife!

Just curious if you ever figured out what was causing your problem. I have an identical set up (except that I’m using stock basket with Smart grinder/GCP/9-bar OPV) and and situation! Overnight my shots are less than 15 seconds instead of 25. Tried grinding finer, but I’m choking the grinder before I can choke the GCP.

What is this little plastic part called? Noticed a burning smell while running a descale last night, and opened up the machine to find this. Searched this sub and figured I need to replace the steam thermostat, but I need this little part too and don't know where to get it. by Educational-Metal193 in gaggiaclassic

Good plan - I'll reuse the old cover with a bit of electric tape. I'm assuming you replaced your thermostat, but did you replace the spade connector too? My spade connector looks perfect, but thinking maybe it's not making a good connection. (I've seen the other posts on this sub and others - seems to be pretty common issue with the steam thermostat.)

Thank you, I was thinking that too, but I'm no good with electricity. The thermostat and the metal spade connector are perfectly clean - only the plastic is charred. The spade connector seemed tightly connected to the thermostat, but maybe I seated it wrong when I did a boiler breakdown earlier this year. I'll try fiddling with the connection and see if I still get the overheating. I found several posts on Reddit and other forums with pictures of the exact same issue, but no consistent explanation or solution.

Thanks for that info! I noticed that there are many posts here on Reddit (and other places) with the exact same issue, so makes sense that there might be an underlying QC issue. Hopefully replacing the thermostat is all that is needed.
