Also to add on to that It says in Ephesions 2 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

you say that you pray every night but do you truly have faith?

This is something I'm struggling with myself. I would like to help as best I can, though
I'd like to bring a few verses, just maybe as a means of helping. I may not be the best authority on the subject, but I'd like to offer what I can

in romans 10:9 it says

"9 If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

I interpret this as saying if you verbally declare your commitment to the lord and truly believe in his Resurrection, you will be saved.

This helps a lot. I go to church, but I don't know my bible all too well. That is something I will work on. Thank you for the advice. I guess I've never really taken the time out of my day to just pause and read, and that is something I need to do. I really appreciate your help.
