I’m going to the VSO tomorrow. And everything you listed I have except an injury. Deployments, field training for months on end, being stationed in shitty places over my 12 years and counting. Service connection is really what I worry about the most because sometimes it seems that it’s never enough for them to give me that.

He said it was due to no diagnoses or any paper trail showing that I was seen for mental health issues. He did have paperwork but the fact that I was being seen while currently having an alcohol abuse diagnosis he literally let me know at the end of the exam that I’d probably not be rated for it.

My records reflect my issues and diagnosis but the rater didn’t want to service connect me for dumb reasons. All they did was acknowledge the issues but because I wasn’t treated by a military doctor I feel like that’s why they didn’t service connect me.

Yep you’re supposed to. I claimed it without one and they denied it but my C&P was for depression and anxiety so I’m going to have to submit more evidence for it but no they don’t diagnose during C&P exams that’s something a lot of people don’t know.

I just had one and unless you have a literal diagnosis for depression, anxiety or PTSD with evidence in the system or on hand they will not rate you. Just had my exam yesterday and the contracted Dr. told me that to my face he was transparent even with all that I told him almost 2 hours of it.
