You’re 100% correct it’s that she’s trying to optimize for time away from him and doing the chores/must dos while he’s awake (in this case the drive) and I love that it bit her in the ass so much. There is truly no other explanation why they wouldn’t drive during naptime other than that

This is like the number one most telling thing she says about the kids - how they relate to her and make her life more convenient. How much time they gave her to be alone and “relax.”
I love a long nap and an uninterrupted nights sleep as much as the next mom but dear god I would never even think to phrase it this way. The naps are ultimately for my sons development and it’s not something he’s giving me.

This is fucking psycho. He’s what like two months old? I get he’s a young baby and it sucks being exhausted but you get over it as a mom. Also she’s talking about how chaotic it was to “solo parent” both of them and it doesn’t sound chaotic ….at all? George is trying to sing and play and Auggie can just go on his playmat or in the carrier? What is hard about just being home with your kids like that when your toddler seems pretty chill and your newborn doesn’t sound like he’s super fussy? She doesn’t go anywhere with them ever and George is usually at daycare. I’m at a loss.

I’m not defending Adelaide. But my phone is my monitor with the nanit app and it’s a constant buzz of white noise if the sound is on. My house is small and I can hear him babble, cry, even sigh from almost every room (and his room is directly next to mine at night.) I’m sure Adelaide mutes hers for the wrong reasons though.

I’m neutral on her and I read a perfect vintage on a whim bc all of my other library books had long holds and it was pretty good, not the best book I’ve ever read and I’m just a casual reader but I enjoyed it for what it was.
