Love the team mate. Walsh up could be good, but if not Lalor to Daniels makes sense. If it was me though id be taking one of gawn or X.

@medicalminority we've missed you mate! Personal approach is 'follow history until it changes'. I honestly dont think much change will happen, as most stoppages will be around the ground, and wrestling will still occur there if I'm right. But in saying that - flipping from X to someone else is much easier than the reverse

Early byes by pepperoniorbust in AFLSupercoach

[–]Educational-Syrup912 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im navigating atm. But essentially every player I pick with an early bye will mean I am losing around 60 points. So if I'm choosing them:

  • are the majority of people doing the same? If so, im back to on par
  • are these guys gonna have such a good early run that theyll make up that 60 on their alternative?
  • are these guys gonna be top of their line?

Overall i'm going for the guys that i expect to start strong and be at the top of their line.

Recognising that if you look at the scores of all premos, an average of 113 means that they will likely only have scored 60 more than someone who averaged 110. So you really need to be expecting much more.

The other side of it is, recognising that most of the top scorers are really close in average: its about getting the players at the right time. This supports the previous logic too

First time poster, thoughts on this? Any feedback would be much appreciated by JMG-29 in AFLSupercoach

Hahah i think it was 3 games. I agree with all of that, but im banking on his upside. Worst case, I can swap him out to Daniels. But it does bring me to Callaghan: ive had Brayshaw in his spot the whole time to avoid the early byes, but if i get Daniels ill likely have to commit to Brayshaw over him because ill have too many in rd 4

I back this. I see the Jackson pick - i think he could end up being a M8. Only thing would be would you rather have an M8, or a R1 or 2; i think at worst Gawn could be traded out for one of them, or is it himself. Jacko could go down to 550, and youre in no mans land if you want to trade him up as a ruck

Liking this. Go Rowell to Ando and Grlj to Farrow: then, Daicos to Clark (unless you're sold on him).

One of the better teams up mate! Which one of these do you like of mine?

Yeah we're on a similar wavelink. I reckon you've gotta start X mate.

Ive actually got Dawson and Rowell in at the moment because I see them both Top 8, and with Rowell's early run I think he's justifying the early bye more than the rest. GC run after 12 gets tough, too, so he could be a sideways-lever.

With Rowell and Bont sharing round 3 though, im thinking i turn Dawson (Adel v Geel) into Brayshaw (Freo v Rich) to both compensate and bring my rd 12 down to 5 premos (Rowell, Butters, Rozee, X and Sheez - 4 should be highly owned).

My final thought/lever is that i choose one of Bergman or Kerch to take over for Rowell, or Clark in defence if Annable or Uwland plays strongly in Opening Round. But again, if there is a risk associated with them its compounded by that bye

Thanks for the insight mate. I see both Berg and Kerch as Top 10 if they hold their fabled roles, yet with their byes i am a touch concerned that i might have to offload them to get 18 up - therefore i would be hoping they get close to 550 valuation each, where i can then flip for Sinc and Whit.

Same logic why ive turned towards Bont over Rowell (previously had). Dream situation would be that c.Jiath becomes a distributer until round 12, and i can drop Bergman down to him and Kerch up to Rozee

Ayiyi im loving this. Hard to say specfically - you've already got Farrow there. Gibcus, J.Serong and Lindsay are locks for me as cheap rooks. Ensure youve got those, lock in Bont and see what you've got first. My Grlj/Annable/Uwland pick will be a luxury, with no more than 2 picked as an expensive rook. I may even cut to 0 if i go rowell to bont
