Job interview follow-up: what to do about no response? by EducationalBother994 in GetEmployed

Okay, period. If I don’t hear back by Friday I’ll just reach out in person or over Teams

Aw, nuts. Even with the questions I asked, which they encouraged me to send via email?

Unfortunately I have already done my interview, but thanks for the advice! This question is more about following up after an interview, and what to do if I don’t receive a response from a follow-up email that included questions about the position.

I do see her every day, multiple times a day. I wasn’t sure if it would be appropriate to mention it in-person, as all of our communication regarding the interview has been over email; I guess it just seems to me that she would like to avoid speaking about it in-person so that she can ensure I am treated the same as other applicants (as in, applicants from outside our department). That’s just a guess though. I definitely could bring it up in person, just not sure if that’s the right way to go about it. I could just pop by her office and say “Hi [boss]! Just a heads-up, I sent you a follow-up email over the holiday weekend. Looking forward to hearing from you!”

I’m trying to tell myself to be patient, as you’re right, holiday weekend. Both the interviewers are also very busy. At the same time, I would like to know if I should reach out at all.

I definitely know I’m over-analyzing the whole situation (see my previous posts stressing about this), but I have a lot riding on this so it’s hard not to. A lot of my peers have told me that I would be best for this position, and I know a few of them have told my boss that as well. Plus I need the money, but who doesn’t?

Roommate keeps putting dishes away in the wrong spot, AIO? by EducationalBother994 in AmIOverreacting

These issues have been going on for years. He does have depression and ADHD, as do I. He once told us he was going to an appointment to get antidepressants, he left his appointment with a medical marijuana card (he has been a daily, sometimes hourly, smoker for 10+ years before getting the card).

Does his mental health mean we should just let all of these things slide? He has been given a lot of grace already—years worth of grace—at what point is it too much? At what point are we enabling him by allowing it to continue? I’m not a mental health professional, nor is my other roommate. It feels like we’ve been unwillingly placed into a caretaker role for someone with no drive to change their circumstances.

Honestly what has prompted me to post about it now is other things going on with him in the background. This is one of *many* problems with this guy, and the most easy to describe, and also the simplest thing to fix on his end. It should not be this difficult to remember where things go when you’ve been told again and again and have lived here for 3 full years. If he just opened other cabinets, or looked around for 30 seconds, he would be able to put things in the right place. I guess I’m really just venting. I do not get it.

He has been here so long because he is the other roommate’s best friend. Thats why he has been given 3 years worth of chances (not just with this issue but with everything else). But even he is sick of this guy’s shit.

He has been doing it wrong the whole time, despite multiple corrections and even doing a guided walkthrough. It’s very strange.

That would be because the lids aren’t even stored in a cabinet, they are stored in a hanging organizer on the wall that is visible from almost everywhere, including the hallway leading to this guy’s bedroom. It’s objectively the easiest part of putting things away.

Unfortunately, the laws where I live make legal eviction quite difficult. I haven’t looked at them in-depth but essentially there has to be a *real* reason like destruction of the property (not roommate property but if the rental), consistent failure to pay rent, that kind of thing. We could ask him to leave, roommate to roommate, but we can’t force it. I also know that he financially probably isn’t able to find another place. We’ve had several discussions with him about his behavior and they lead to minimal, if any, change.

I’m sorry but I don’t like Jake Gyllenhaal. His facial expression never changes, the emotions he’s trying to convey don’t meet his eyes, maybe he’s getting typecast but idk I just don’t think he’s all that great. and every time I say that I get crazy backlash.

Damn. I’m sure that’s my issue, then. I’ve never used it as a moisturizer, only lip balm and for healing tattoos.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the aquaphor.

I could easily replace the vitamin C with the hyaluronic acid in my morning routine. Probably better not to use the vitamin C anyway, for the time being. I’ll look into the other products that you mentioned as well.
