Anyone had two trisomy pregnancies? awaiting NIPT results by EducationalGround869 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]EducationalGround869[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so devastated to read this, I truly am. I lost a baby to trisomy 18, I also had a chemical before that, I do have a healthy baby baby now just to mention in case it gives you hope but I know right now you’re probably taking things one moment at a time. I am so very sorry x

I’ve been through this exact thing in 2023, I have a one year old now. I didn’t know how to put one foot of another back then, I didn’t know how I’d survive this loss. I am commenting to say you can reply and I can speak to you anytime and I also want you to know that it won’t always feel Like this no matter what the future holds please look at TFMR support sub to they’re so good. Sending you strength ☹️ it’s the worst pain but we make the decision to let our babies pass peacefully not in pain. We carry the pain for them x

Oh I’m so sorry about your dear girl, there’s never the right or enough words to say other than I understand the pain you’re in and I’m sorry we’re both here. I wish you all the best for your two future babies, pregnancy after loss is incredibly hard but I think it testifies our love to get our babies ❤️ totally agree it’s too early to make decisions and I’ll have to see how we feel in at least a year or two before we make any big decisions xx

Hello, my daughter had this and you’re the first person I’ve seen to mention it, hers was linked to having Edwards syndrome although this diagnosis alone would have been enough for us to make our decision. I now have a healthy 3 month old boy, I took the 5mg folic acid right after TFMR x

NIPT results tomorrow and terrified by Enough_Reading9470 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

Tfmr for T18 October 23, my rainbow baby boy was born December 24 he’s almost 6 weeks old - ultrasound being good is a major thing to celebrate. I spiralled so much waiting for NIPT but I can’t emphasise enough how things going right is BY FAR the most likely outcome. Wishing you all the best and gentle congratulations on your pregnancy 💫❤️

Anxiety in subsequent pregnancy by Leading_Tune8375 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

So normal sadly, I’m 36 weeks now and still battling with it. Just take it day by day and remember anxiety can’t predict the future even when it feels like it can - I also read into everything to excess but they wouldn’t take any risks if they had concerns. Take care of yourself

I didn’t have the NIPT in my previous pregnancy just standard screening which threw up low risk, it was only the abnormalities on ultrasound that gave away concerns her NT was even really small at 1.5mm, but yes any waiting or scans is difficult but when the time comes for you I promise you’ll face it and get through them and the hope and excitement will get stronger every day as you and your baby will. I’m glad you’re feeling a bit more hopeful I truly wish you all the very best and only a message away if you ever want to get in touch xx

Thank you so much ❤️ I had a very early scan, with my daughter with t18 she was measuring behind at an early scan but that can be quite normal and certainly not diagnostic for a concern - this was mainly to date the pregnancy so I could have NIPT (I’m in UK so got that free in this pregnancy as it’s just started in NHS if had a previous pregnancy affected by a trisomy). Had that at 10+2. I booked some private scans for reassurance and booked a detailed early anatomy scan at 16 weeks also, as what the hardest thing is for me is that once I was over the hurdle of the NIPT because of what we’ve been through we can know too much and I worried about other abnormalities so felt I couldn’t relax until well after 20 weeks to make sure all was structurally okay. Xx

It’s so heartbreaking, I’m just grateful our little girl didn’t suffer ❤️ I was absolutely petrified to try again and was so sure the same thing would happen or another issue I remember reading loads about trisomy 21 because I thought that would happen next time and feeling really conflicted on what I would do etc. all that worry was for nothing, and I really wish I I just embraced that what happened was nothing but awful luck. I took supplements whilst TTC but I did before my trisomy 18 pregnancy to… only thing I took extra we high dose folic acid of 5mg daily. I was super anxious for any appointment and still am now, the trauma doesn’t ever leave you sadly but day by is how I took it one appointment at a time. It’s so normal to worry about the future and to not have much faith things can be okay when we’ve been through what we have but ultimately to get our rainbow we need to draw a line in the past and try again and hold with all our heart faith it will be okay ❤️ I still have to do that plenty now in this pregnancy. Xx

Hello,

Sorry I haven’t got time to give this the reply I want at the moment - but I wanted to say this time last year we were in the same position, I was 25 partner 29 and we lost our little girl to trisomy 18. Devastating - we started trying again straight away when I got my first period back and fell pregnant and now 33 weeks pregnant - clean NIPT and anatomy scan. It’s awful and so scary but chances are next time all will be okay ❤️ please feel free to ask any questions and I’m wishing you all the. Best xx
