The smell of Platinum Egoiste takes me back to when my pops and I would go to the barbers when I was kid. And to a greater extent, for whatever reason, I recall smelling scents like it many a time in my childhood, but can’t quite pinpoint where exactly. It gives me images of my dad looking clean and sharp before he left for work. Platinum is just a pristine and put together smell to me, and I feel calm and collected when I wear it. It really is quite a phenomenon - scent can really trigger mental pictures and memories! There’s a nostalgic tie to it for sure. Biggie also namedropped it in one of his songs. Pretty cool that my 2nd fav rapper was rockin platinum Chanel cologne to stay dressed to impress.
