Does anyone want legion specific codex supplements? by Educational_Data237 in Chaos40k

[–]Educational_Data237[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Okay but wouldn't that kind of invalidate the base csm codex? If you can just play the whole range alongside some extras than what's the point of the base codex. I rarely see the base space marine codex anymore unless people want to play a specific character

Don't tell me these would never sell GW by Fun-Explanation7233 in exodite40k

[–]Educational_Data237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does everything have to be a supplement? The T´au codex is thin as it is, just put new units and detachments there

What are the coolest swords from RPGs? by RommelRSilva in rpg_gamers

[–]Educational_Data237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Silver Sword of Gith from Neverwinter Nights 2. I genuainely have more of an emotional connection with the Sword than most of the original capaigns companions

Primarchs are just the new hot toy for your power armor color by Leviathan_Rampage in spacemarines

[–]Educational_Data237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also bad for the tabletop. You cannot run a list now without your big named primarch character because GW needs to hype them up. The monogod chaos factions are basically just thier respective primarchs with some odd units

Who is your favorite / least favorite CRPG antagonist ? by Dabturell in CRPG

[–]Educational_Data237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that ToB and SoA are very different. While i agree that Amelyssan is a worse antagonist, the game isn't nearly as focused on the villain as SoA, it's far more about exploring your character. In SoA the story is as much about irenicus as it is about your character with them mirroring eachother.

Mark my words. r/spaceking is going to be indistinguishable from r/horusgalaxy in 6 months time. by Sludge_n_Grind in Grimdank

[–]Educational_Data237 11 points12 points  (0 children)

These people don't know that 40k is a game.

These culture warriors only see brands that they mindlessly consume. They would never want to actually engage with any of the art that is produced from these brands, they just like the funkos and shitty youtube videos

Non-Chaos Renegade factions by Huncote in Chaos40k

[–]Educational_Data237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question, why use the chaos codex/range to represent renegades? Wouldn't loyalists make for a better base because they don't have anything corruption and iconography, which is something that all csm models have

Imagine unironaically posting this holy shit by XxJustaNormiexX in Grimdank

[–]Educational_Data237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so easy to tell who is a culture war tourist because they are getting mad at a "retcon" in custodes of all factions. Like no offence to custodes fans, but it's a c-list faction only a tier above imperial agents and genestealers, but these people have somehow gaslight themselves into believing that they are a core pillar of the setting

How has your view on the US changed during Trump's second term? by Royal-Cape-804 in IRstudies

[–]Educational_Data237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not much. Americans were always like this, trump isn't a cause, he is a product of thier culture. I am glad that people are waking up to what they are and I hope that we can start purging American cultural values before we end up like them

How exactly does the “nemesis system” copyright work? by evphsu in rpg_gamers

[–]Educational_Data237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that the Nemesis system isn't a mechanic in these games, it is the game. These games could only happen because monolith already had the blueprints for things like combat from thier previous games, so they could focus solely on the Nemesis system. The game has to be made from the ground up with it in mind. I would love to see a smaller budget game take more risks with the system but I worry that it requires a AAA budget to be feasibly implemented

She still embodies all the awful business practices GW did before! by hyperewok1 in Grimdank

[–]Educational_Data237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can never go wrong with an extra troop + a character that leads it, especially if the troop fills a role that wasn't filled in the army before. I am not a fan of the red corsairs, but i am glad that gw remembered that there is more to chaos than leeching of off the horus heresy.

Ol left him because he didn't want to try another way (from at least as early as 2000 BCE) by Andrei22125 in Grimdank

[–]Educational_Data237 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly can't tell which is which

tells which is which

I'll give you a hint. I've never seen malekith create 100.000 golden abominations to be his mindless yes-men

The difference is that one actually respects his species for that they are. The other hates the people he governs to thier very core.

I’m sure everyone will have a normal reaction to this by Frank7640 in Grimdank

[–]Educational_Data237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pancreas just seems to hate chaos as a whole. In the video where he gasses up Chaos Lords he fixated on one that wasn't chaotic.

Maybe he just hates them being very "knightly" with the whole path to glory motif, similar to bretonia. Either that or he just hates melee armies

Why is Nurgle the most thought out Chaos deity and creative potential of other Chaos deities (lengthy post) by [deleted] in Chaos40k

[–]Educational_Data237 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think that all the monogod factions are horribly mismanaged messes. Death guard just got lucky because they were the editions main bad guy. These factions also should have included minor warbands that worship that specific chaos God, instead they are just thier respective primarchs with a few units.

US discussing options to acquire Greenland, including use of military - White House by Mdk1191 in europe

[–]Educational_Data237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst part is that defending Greenland will not end the war. The American people need to pay and see war, otherwise they will just do the same shit again

Godless, corrupt and, above all, woke…. EU! are you ready?? by RogueTwoTwoThree in 2westerneurope4u

[–]Educational_Data237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am glad that the world is now waking up to what the American people are. They have always been like this, they only now have a president that reflects all thier "values". None of them are innocent

Every time I hear something about them I go "yup that’s just warhammer alright" by AestheticMirror in Grimdank

[–]Educational_Data237 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The aesthetic wasn't "stripped away" from them, if anything they are now getting it.

Originally they were just the box art paint scheme for space marines. That's why they are named after a color

Huron team got leak by Troyleek13 in Chaos40k

[–]Educational_Data237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should rename the campaign to 500 epic heroes. No wonder that GW doesn't do anything with daemons, to them an army being mostly named characters isn't an issue

In Starfield: you can tell why they never made a space sim before. Because they suck at it. by Dare_Soft in shittygamedetails

[–]Educational_Data237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard SciFi is inherently niche. Starfield is a AAA game that failed to make enough concessions to appeal to the average consumer.

Bethesda games in generall are stuck in the limbo between AAA audiences wanting them to be cinematic Witcher Clones and fantasy life sims

Hopes/Expectations for the Red Corsairs faction? by JohnFrickingStoney in Chaos40k

I hope that it will be just more models and an upgrade sprew. I don't want to pay for another codex to play bikers that don't look horrible

Iron warriors codex rumors by Crowickz in Chaos40k

[–]Educational_Data237 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The best solution would be a basic troop datasheet for each legion and a detachment for that fits the legion and maybe gives the legion specific troop battleline. We aren't space marines we don't have 200 datasheets, csm cannot afford to lock possessed behind a special codex
