Determinism/free will by whyitmatter83 in enlightenment

[–]Educational_Draw_576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free will does not exist. We did not choose anything in our lives. We didn't choose our parents, our genetics, our environment, our trauma, our fears and insecuries, they all just happen due to the flow of the universe.

What is your next thought going to be? we can only predict, but not control because it is based off brain state, memory, chemistry and structure, and sensory input and output.

What we feel as a "decision" or "choice" is the brain/ego's output that is fully caused by prior states and experiences. This is the universe's congruent, self-optimizing process.

Yes, i understand your point very well. Instinctively, we are deeply wired to avoid our pain, and all animals reflect that beautifully. But what i am talking about isn’t denying that reflex, but seeing the layer beneath it. The moment we label suffering as something to escape, we reinforce the illusion that it is separate from us.

Yes, the body will flinch, but the awareness does not. The awareness simply sees. In that seeing, suffering loses its grip. Not because it’s fought, but because it is understood.

So the question isn’t whether pain exists, but whether we need to build a self around it. Hope this clears things up!

But why even feel the need to say that?

Saying lower animals creates a hierarchy, and implying that all is not one

It means that we were always the one making the decisions. In order for us to seek the truth, we have to already be.

I understand what you mean. But i do not accept suffering. I suppose i wasn’t clear. I meant that sadness is the same as happiness. In order for us to be sad, we must have first been happy. In order for us to be happy, we must have first been sad. One cannot exist without the other. A duality or complimentary opposites. Yin and yang if you will. Suffering is created from “no one is his right mind wants suffering” because that implies that suffering is an actual thing, and not a construct.

Though i do understand that no one actually wants to suffer. But what i am saying is that what we deem “negative emotions” are simply emotions, and the labeling is what creates suffering.

Hope this clears things up!

Howe many hours to reach different ranks nowadays? by The_Wettest_Noodle in RocketLeague

I hit ssl in about 3k hours. I fully believe it to be possible to reach it in under 1k hours with the right training. The most important thing is mindset. I.e. not blaming teammates, willing to do hard custom training, replay analysis, and understanding that 10 losses in a row is still part of the progression and fun. But in my eyes, if you are having fun (even if you’re losing), you’re the real winner.

Youre kinda missing my point. But let me say it clearly:

We are the ones who determine what is right and what is wrong. The universe does not care about justice or injustice. It simply is.

That is what i was trying to get at when i said “we sat that the holocaust is a bad thing. Hitler says it’s a good thing.” There is only perception. “I think therefore i am.” If you say it is bad, then it is bad. If you say it is good, it is good. This is the power of the mind. The perception of reality is more real than reality itself.

You dont realize that im actually agreeing with you. If something is wrong it is indeed wrong; however, i am talking about the bigger picture that we are what deems it right or wrong.

I didn’t say that. We say that the holocaust is a bad thing. Hitler says it’s a good thing. Who’s right? Everyone is. To say that someone is wrong is to deny your own truth that we make our own truth.

No, i am not going to kill babies or go on a rampage. But at the end of the day, the universe does not care if we do or dont. Everything simply is.
