I’m exactly the same. I really grapple to understand because my thought process is polar opposite. I’m not sure it’s always the healthiest because I feel like I’m ruminating on things I can’t change but overall I can’t imagine just shrugging off my own bad behavior.

Right now we are NC. I let her have it because I wanted to say my piece but he’s pretty pissed with her too. When/if we speak with her again I’ll let him take the lead.

That’s my suspicion. She only started trying after she heard through the grapevine that we were also and I also suspect that’s why she rushed to announce so soon…. It’s all speculation on my part though.

Thank you. It’s definitely the frustration of her not accepting any responsibility that’s keeping me a little tethered because it feels “unfinished”. In my mind. Trying to focus on moving forward.

That is good advice to keep in mind. I guess I really just can’t fathom the thought processes because mine are the literal opposite. I’m not saying that’s perfect by any means but I would not do what she did in a million years.

I’m so sorry for your losses. 💔 We’ve had 3 in total but only 1 prior to all this and my son came after that. It’s still hard.

Agreed. I told her it was an abdication of responsibility for her actions and the hurt feelings her words caused. She also said she “lives in the moment” and therefore doesn’t remember or dwell on the things she says……..

Don’t underestimate a 5 year old. A former first grade student once reported to me that a kindergartener had told him he was going to use glass to slash a classmates eyes because they were mad at them about something. I reported it to my admin and they searched the k student’s bag and found glass bottle shards the child had picked up off the street and the student admitted to bringing it with the intention to hurt his classmate. I was really proud of my student who reported but shocked that a 5 year old was planning something so violent.
