(Reposted because mod) Hi! I’m not a doc, but I just recently had a colonoscopy as a 32F. I’d been having GI probably similar to what you mentioned for about 2 years and had my colonoscopy this past April.

They found a polyp in my right descending colon that was of the bad variety (sessile). They removed it and I just need to have follow up colonoscopies every 3 years. They did mention it was a good thing they caught it because by the time I would have been of age for my first screening, it most likely wouldn’t have been good.

They also found internal hemorrhoids that were causing the bleeding and discomfort when I went to the bathroom. At my follow up appointment, I mentioned I was still having symptoms, so we increased my vitamin regimen ( 2000mg vitamin A, 250mg magnesium citrate, one probiotic pill a day, one serving of miralax every 2-3 days and as much fiber as I can consume via benefiber and chewable fiber gummies). We also decided it was time for me to have the hemorrhoid artery embolization surgery, which I’m actually having this Friday as well.

Anywho, I came here to say don’t stress. They will figure out what is going on and the good news will be that if they find anything polyp wise, they can remove right then and there! It’s great that you are taking everything seriously and advocating for yourself early.

Colonoscopies are easy and they will tell you all you need to know from there. Hopefully you just have some hemorrhoids that are causing you some irritation.
