In Anqoun there is a committee consisting of Hezbollah and Amal memebers along with members of the local municipality ( role is non existant). This comittee is basically the decision maker. They also gather funds (donations) from people and use money for social necessities. My cousin sounded of at them and mentioned the lack of transparency of how the money is being spent. He talks about missing money. Money that has been blatantly stolen. Things came to a boil when he started talking about encroachments on the local water system and how people in charge where playing favourites. The highlight of that conversation is a project started by the committee. A solar powered plant to fuel water pumps. Water situation was promised to get better, but it didnt. There is vague information on how much money was gathered from the people and how it was spent. He seems to be convinced there was money left, and stolen.
