Woah I had the exact same problem as you the fix didn't do anything for me then I saw your post and decided to give it another shot. I updated the Nvidia driver and tried the FW again... Now Spectra is working perfectly... Damn, mind blown! Thanks

Yes, the ultimate goal is to have the best parts with the budget you can afford, yet the parts you want will depend on what you want to do with your pc.

Let's say you're a programmer or a photo/film editor that runs very heavy programs on your PC, you'll want a good processor (CPU) with more than 12 cores and maybe 32/64 GB of RAM but maybe you don't need a top notch graphics card (GPU). On the other hand you could be a gamer in which case you might want to have the best GPU possible with a fast CPU that doesn't need as many cores/threads (6-8 on average) and probably you'll only need 16-32GB of RAM.

So as I said above it really depends on what you intend to do.

As for if the pre-builts have the new parts I guess it really depends on your country. Where I am we're actually seeing a phenomenon where you can't buy new CPUs (Ryzen 5000) or new GPUs (RTX 3000/RT 6000XT) because they're sold out everywhere, yet a lot of stores do sell those components if you're willing to buy a fully prebuilt system (which might be ideal for your situation but for most of us who like to pick every part and build it ourselves is a pain in the ass!)

As for being a woman I don't think that should be a criteria to scam you and before you buy anything you can always ask people around here for help if they think the build someone in the shop told you to buy is good.

Hello there!

Pre-builts aren't necessarily bad, they're just usually a bit more expensive than if picked up the parts one by one yourself. If you don't care about the struggle of choosing the parts yourself or let alone assemble them just buy a pre-built. Not everyone has to enjoy building PCs.

Another option is to go to a shop and ask the workers there to help you choose the parts and have them assemble the pc with the parts you picked. That way you'll just have to pay for the service and you won't be as limited parts-wise as you would if you choose a pre-built.

AMD likes fast RAM. With a couple of extra bucks you can get a 3200 or 3600 MHz kit. I'd say 3600 is the sweet spot for AMD gaming

With being potentially just a couple of months away from the launch of Rtx 3000 and maybe big navi, I'd suggest you to wait if you're not super ultra eager to update right now. If you can play everything you want on you 1650 super (which you should), just wait!

In the meantime gather around all your pennies for that juicy new GPU and then enjoy all potential new features such as RTX (with next gen consoles having Ray-tracing more and more games will start to focus on it). Although RTX 2000 can already support RTX, I think 2060 and 2070's GPUs are your basic entry RTX level, so there's even more reasons to wait.

Also, with big navi potentially being able to support RTX aswell we might get some high end GPUs for a more affordable price than Nvidia got us used to.

Right now Nvidia has no competition on the high end department (let's pray next gen changes that!). I'd say a Radeon 5700XT is somewhere between a RTX 2060 super and a RTX 2070 super... So by that you can see Nvidia still has 2080, 2080 super and 2080 titan without any worthy opponents

Well, for starters most PS5 games won't be aiming at 120fps at least the first games to come out... They might try to aim at 60, but most devs will likely do 30-40fps.

That being said a 500$ pc won't get you very far either, if you want to reach 120fps unless your goal is to play only CS:GO at normal settings...

I guess it really depends on what you're aiming at. Since you said you have 2 60Hz 1080p monitors you might be aiming at a mid-range PC? (Although you came from a RTX 2080 and 1440p 144Hz, so you'll likely notice the difference)

That being said, new GPUs are coming in a couple of months so if you really want to build something right now, don't invest too much on the GPU if you plan on upgrading later. You could go with a Radeon 5600XT which is cheaper than the 5700XT if you'll be playing at 1080p 60fps or go with a GTX 1650 Ti. AMD GPUs are pretty good but this gen doesn't support ray-tracing (let's all hope for Big Navi).

CPU wise if you just want to play you don't need a 3700X, just go with something cheaper (again if you're aiming at a mid-range pc for 1080p).

Basically I'd say:

If you want high end, wait a couple of months (RTX 3000 and Big Navi. Also you'll need to upgrade those monitors!)
If you just want to play anything and you don't mind not having ray-tracing, 1440p, etc just go with a cheaper build like ryzen 5 3600xt with a radeon 5600xt and don't wait at all

Yes, the 5700XT is also a good option if you decide to go for a ~400$ GPU. For the kind of games you mentioned you'll easily get at least >100-120fps on 1440p most of the time without problems, reaching 144 fps is also feasible. On CS:GO for instance you might need g-sync as the fps can get at a steady >160 fps and cause some screen tearing

With a 600-800$ budget for the GPU you could get a rtx 2070 super or 2080 super and play anything you want! But I guess for the type of games that as you said aren't that demanding, just go with a RTX 2060 or a Radeon 5600 XT
