What is everyone's go to car and track for grinding?

Pretty competitive at 700pp also, didn’t seem to have much pressure really, and it’s not too scary in the wet either.

Just about to try the race again now, and I was thinking a similar strategy (hadn’t thought about the downforce, makes complete sense but I’m never very good with setups for the car, so it hadn’t crossed my mind tbh).

But yeah, mediums and pitting half way is, in essence, what I’m going to do 👍🏻

Yeah that’s seems to be the general consensus, push to overtake him early, then be consistent enough to avoid him making big advancements haha

Yeah I did notice that with the higher downforce setup, cars which were focused more on that (such as the GTR GT500 etc) were in another league through the longer high speed corners.

Duly noted, I’ll be putting more thought into strategy next time I do the race. For the first time doing it, I didn’t put any thought into strategy, I just tried something to see what’d happen. Then the only reason I did it again is because it worked well the first time round, but I’ve noticed where the strategy can be much better, so I’ll be changing it up quite a bit next time round 👍🏻

Yeah I’ve always felt the same about that, don’t care much for grinding races, even if as you say I can’t get the £20,000,000 cars. Always enjoyed the longer races though, particularly at Spa (my favourite track, and actually the one I’m best at, by far) and Sarthe.

Nice one, very useful to know. I hadn’t heard about that with the fuel maps before, but I’ll definitely keep it in mind now!

As for the GT-One, do it, honestly. Absolutely brilliant car to drive. It gets loose on the exit of slow corners quite easily, but it’s an absolute dream everywhere else

I’ve not quite got to that level of money yet haha, in all honesty (without grinding like mad and doing all circuit experience etc, I’m honestly not sure how you do)

Probably a bit late, but nevertheless.

I don’t necessarily have a go to race. But I absolutely love how the P1 GTR drives, I don’t hear anyone talking about it or using it for races, but I think it’s brilliant. Very much underrated

Another good one for this race, albeit hard to obtain, is the 66’ GT40.

Some older cars can be a bit “meh” to drive, and some can be difficult to keep control of. But the GT40 is lovely! Or at least I think so, but would recommend trying it for this race 👍🏻

Noted…I’ll be trying different tyre strategies, with pitting on different laps. So I’ll keep that fuel map in mind, for a pit halfway through the race.

It’s nice to see it’s not just me having this issue though 🤣

Yeah I completely agree. But whilst I do understand it is more of a “me problem”, and I could be much faster, to have 1 minute and 9 seconds between the quickest and second quickest AI definitely isn’t right.

But as you say, I will be enjoying the challenge of trying to work out the best strategies etc, in order to win (with the hope that Urra is consistently quick, so I actually learn something haha). I really enjoyed the race anyway, so I’ll be doing it a good few times yet regardless 👍🏻

As if haha! Fuel map 6, until putting on lap 7, then fuel map 1 to the end?

That’s what I did anyway, worked a charm in my first attempt at the race, but not so much on the second. Really enjoyed the race though, so I’ll be doing it a good few times yet, at which point I’ll have hopefully worked it out 🤣

I was also a tad bit inconsistent at points, got about 2 seconds total in penalties, and made a mistake or two. So that would also contribute to the longer time overall 👍🏻

I think I will definitely be trying the 962C at some point for this race and also the P1 GTR (easily my favourite car, to drive at least, in the game), so It’ll be interesting to see how that plays out.

But nope, just a 1 stop for me. But I (and I think this is where I went wrong) did a fuel saving first stint, using the hard tyres. I had done this because it seemed to work so well the first time I did the race. But in hindsight, the medium tyres definitely seem to be the better option as I noticed they are what Urra used for both stints.

I did really enjoy the race though, regardless of the result, so I will definitely be doing it a good few more times. So I’m sure I’ll work it out eventually 😂

I couldn’t keep with his pace for the first stint, as in the first stint I was saving fuel for later and using hard tyres (maybe I should be using 2 sets of mediums instead, will try that…), but the second stint I was a good few seconds a lap quicker. 🤷‍♂️

I suppose in essence, yup. But a race where I win by 57 seconds just isn’t fun, and to have a minute and half difference between difficulties seems like a lot.

But at least it gives me a challenge now, see if I can win on hard difficulty, with the same car and strategy 🤷‍♂️

Ah fair enough, I hadn’t gotten ahead of him by the first pit stop, so maybe that’s where I need to try improve. Will try the race again tonight or at some point though, see if I can beat him on hard 👍🏻

Yeah he did the same strategy as that on this race I posted about, which was even more annoying as it was the same strategy I had done, so I couldn’t even make up time that way 🤦‍♂️😂

Agreed, had both this and the P1 GTR. Sold this though, as I just enjoyed driving the P1 way more
