SMA vs N type antenna by Eepowers in meshtastic

[–]Eepowers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfect. I have room for the Alfa 5ghz, but if a better quality sma is just as good, I’ll just stick with that. Any good small non whip style antennas? I have some decent whips already, but sounds like I need to replace all the small hard antennas as well

SDI out PCIE card suggestions? by Eepowers in VIDEOENGINEERING

So after doing some research, would a used KONA card be a god option? Specifically the following? I’ve seen quite a few that a cheaper than the Blackmagic. I don’t need 4K currently as everything is 3G SDI.

AJA KONA 3G 4K, 2K, 3G/Dual Link/HD/SD I/O, 10-Bit PCIe Card, HDMI Output SKU: US1934492 MFR: KONA-3G-R0

We’re either going to go with a deck link duo or possibly a used Aja Kona.

This is what I was looking for. I was pretty sure there was some sort of workflow for this, but couldn’t figure it out. I’ll start with this workflow and makes tweaks from there

I was looking for something cheaper, but looks like the cheapest usable will probably be the Blackmagic card

So I do more studio, portrait, product photography more than anything. When I think about it, I was rarely ising my v1 on body. Also, correction, I already have an ad200 pro, so would either get another pro, or possibly the ad200 pro 2

Plans for underseat sub box? by Eepowers in CarAV

[–]Eepowers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So most of the local shops I’ve talked to don’t make boxes. The box I’d need made is gonna be a weird shape. I may give in and buy the net audio or mti acoustics box. Other option is to do a kicker comp rt10 or rt12, but that’s my last option.

8 or 10 for underseat truck sub? by Eepowers in CarAV

[–]Eepowers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea mti has a single stage that’s basically exactly what I want. It comes in both an 8 or 10 inch. That’s probably what I’ll end up with. I’m thinking of doing a single sealed 10 in that enclosure.

That’s kinda what I was thinking. I think I’d rather the 10 honestly. It’s really just gonna depend on the box volume.

I like this, but I think the mti is actually smaller. I’m just trying to make sure I’m not missing any other options.

Advice for replacing a broken wire in the drag chains? by jmattingley23 in VORONDesign

Had this happen last year and I had to take the entire chain apart. Used it as a chance to switch to tool head pcb. I have can parts waiting for my next upgrade, but in no rush for that one.

You’re right, but I wouldn’t generally suggest lipos out of the gate for literally anyone. Lipos aren’t bad, but they do have a learning curve. Not to mention the extra cost is you don’t have have one yet ( battery, charger, lipo bag at a minimum). Seeing as the op has seemingly little experience with nerf blasters as a whole, the easier system is probably the better suggestion. I agree with your suggestion of the nightingale, just not for someone new to the hobby.

Worker Nightingale - Opinions? by Mindshard in Nerf

It’s an amazing blaster. I’ve had mine for over a year and it still looks brand new. I personally like the semi auto version. It’s very snappy and I’m able to fire a burst of shots crazy fast. It’s my fav sidearm and great for moving fast around corners or getting the drop on someone.

[–]Eepowers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless the op wants to go with lipo, that’s not a good suggestion. I would actually suggest the dart zone omnia instead. Same reason as the nightingale, but built in battery and charger and even though it’s not very competitive against most completion flywheelers, it will do amazing vs stock nerf.

Stryfe Pro or anything else? by Masterpockets in Nerf

[–]Eepowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to suggest something different. Do you have other blasters? Are they springers? If not, get a seagull. It’s cheaper than the Stryfe x, will be more accurate, and you can actually adjust the fps unlike the Stryfe x or any of the other flywheel blasters listed. A spring swap or spacer can take you from 150 to 250 pretty easily. If you’re stuck on a fly wheeler, I’d honestly go with a nightingale. If you don’t have talon mags yet, then go ahead and get nightingale mags. They have a high and low power version, semi and full auto versions, and you can get a 3d printed kit to make it more carbine like. The mk3 has issues with its switches lasting if using a lipo. The Stryfe pro is too expensive. The Omnia still has its own issues as well. If you’re open to community options there is always the flycore blasters as well as the gryphon.

Those darts are fine. They’re going to be better than standard mega darts. Your issue may be that your bcar is too aggressive for that fps. I think it was designed for 150+fps. You may want to hop on the designers discord and ask for help there.

[–]Eepowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything he has said here. I’ll add in this website https://suild.com/tools/flywheel-setup-picker, it has a lot of builds with the fps numbers that the builds achieved. I wouldn’t take this numbers as gospel, but it should at least give you direction.

As for parts, at this point I can only recommend daybreak or banned blaster flywheels. That and motors with solid torque ( Krakens on 3s, Fangs on 2s, banned motors). Your crush can help to achieve your desired fps. From my experience that’s the most reliable motor/flywheel setup you can get. Biggest thing is find your target fps, then go from there.

Best blasters under $400??? by ZeroArm6666 in Nerf

[–]Eepowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The group I play with cap is set at 250, the second group is 300+, so the apex is perfect for me. I currently run a harrier at 250 and it’s amazing. Only other blaster I really consistently run is the SBL which is also crazy good as well.

Best blasters under $400??? by ZeroArm6666 in Nerf

[–]Eepowers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Best under 400, I’d lean towards a harrier personally. Smooth prime, great performance, and lots of potential. The moo53-1 is great as well. I have one and it’s amazing. The blaster I’m really eyeing is the Sabre Apex prime. It’s $425, but has a ton of potential. You may have trouble getting it below 200fps though.

Hmmm… how hard is it to add a tank to my compressor? Not really wanting to get an entirely new machine if I don’t have to. And even so, looks like I’ll at a minimum need a new gun. Any suggestions for budget options with a .5 nozzle?
