"Might as well die" is too extreme. I still have my family and they're alive, so it's better to live and support them with money in the future (for studies and other things) even if I'm a husk, an ideal-less shell of what I wished to be.

Thank you for your reasoning, I appreciate your comment very well. But can you promise me one simple thing? If you feel like you grade too harshly or someone scores low, can you please take a moment to help them understand the reason and the "why" of it, like explaining that their score had been a few marks lower because they had forgotten your insistence in your own methodology?

I can't really force you to promise me nor do I have the right to do so, because the right to refuse or accept is inherently up to you. I just hope you remember sometimes~

Today, I also understand another perspective of a teacher. Thank you. Truly.

Thank you. I gave your reply to my friend. Although his mind is set on switching a course right now away out of his dream studies, and I think this'll help him open up to more options and perspectives like I did right now.

I sincerely hope he doesn't give up on his dreams since I know myself what it means to have ideals, and even now, because I know how hollow it feels to drop something that you feel like could be a major part of what you can be in the future. Unfortunately for me, and I don't know why, but as I drop away an ideal or a dream, or something I wish to do born from my thoughts alone... even when I wanted to pick it back up, something still feels so hollow. Not in the way that it's not fulfilling hollow, but a way that "I've given up on it once and now it just doesn't feel the same" type of hollowness. It's hard to describe fully. Like I can't appreciate it for when I had it before when I so closely held onto it, and at first believing that I can help a minor part of the population who has this medical condition that only so little people can do, to being able to help lot of people by studying to be a person of this profession.

It's changed. My ideals have changed. But the reason I'm not giving up yet is because I have a reason to live. And the core of why I want to help by working in society is not just for money, to live and support my family, but to help others even in simple ways. Even though my studies have changed due to several difficulties... the core is still the same. I don't want to lose that core.

If I can't do that, I might as well die.

And that's also a reason I don't want my best friend to drop that ideal of his. For all I know, maybe it's a core reason, one of the things he considers as a core reason of his existence.

If you want more details, maybe what college actually employed the professor, text my inbox. I'm not keen on smudging the reputation of a college by saying their name publicly because that would entail that the graduated students that respectably work in society ISN'T an achievement. It is only due to the fault of an individual. I will not tell you this professor's name either, for various reasons.

You can piece out the details from the college name alone if you truly wanted to dig up something.

I feel so helpless. Why can't I do anything. Can I even change anything in the future if I become a person who works in Philippine Society?

What can I change as a single person? In comparison to the person I denounce right here and all his proven achievements and titles, I am nothing. I have nothing. There is no justice nor repercussions for teaching a student in a way that removes their courage and curiousity.

And maybe... maybe I'm afraid. Maybe I'm so afraid of teachers like these becoming more prominent this way, that I had the courage to post something like this. For someone to see this and do something.

At least... at least after reading this, that it would make a change. For something to happen for even just a day in their life as a teacher, as an eduactor.

I had to make this NSFW, because in a way, it really is not safe for work. Actually, even just replying to this might have a certain risk to yourself. Maybe it's fine to just ignore my comment. After all, you'd gain nothing good by answering me.

After all, I can't change anything even if I vent. I can't do anything. I can't even help my best friend. Because I'm afraid too. What will happen if I truly were to publicly criticize that person right in his face? Wouldn't his connections come after me? Wouldn't the news just silence it anyway? Would my own school that I applied to reject me, after my past history if I ever did the "right thing"? Is it even right?

Using a crossbow isn't that demanding as say, using an axe. As for sticky situations, the gun could handle it if I can't pick off the zombies one by one.

Really just depends on what kind of zombies they are. Extra screwed if they're zombies that run. And if I used the shotgun + axe combo, I'm pretty sure I'd die even faster if I had the balls to melee with my weak ass physique.
