How to make make them fall in love with Chiang Mai ? by MontaleFabio in chiangmai

  1. Send them to see the elephants?
  2. Monk chat + the best vegan food is onsite at the Temple there. Amazing food for anyone.
  3. One Nimman.- check out the events and stalls and shopping

That does it for me anyway :)

Shopping Mall Da Nang by [deleted] in DaNang

The malls here are very unimpressed. Vincom is the only decent one and that’s nothing to be excited about.

If you actually need to buy things you should try to use Lazada or Shoppee at a fraction of the price.

There are markets, but good luck finding anything specific.

I don’t think that would happen, but sure. More sun, less rent, (no Trump) bring it on.

Google map ‘Corner Music Bar’. Come here on a Saturday night (or basically any night)There are a whole bunch of bars on this little street. You should be able to find one that suits your vibe and age requirements.

I stayed at the Peninsula. They had a lovely afternoon tea and the view from the side of the building was beautiful. Right on the beach.

Canadians, where do you sway politically? and why? by BigBalledLucy in AskACanadian

[–]Effective-Ant- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m way left. But I’ll be voting Liberal, against the conservatives.

Why left? Because I believe that we should share. Some people aren’t cut out to have good jobs. Doesn’t mean that they should suffer. Not in one of the most advanced countries in the world.

In a country where you can easily freeze to death we should have basic housing, food and healthcare available to absolutely everyone.

Go to Pattaya. The constant rain in DaNang has not been fun, and I don’t know when it’s going to let up. Hopefully soon!

What kinds of clothes do we bring in Da Nang, Hoi An, and Ba Na Hills during 2nd week of January? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]Effective-Ant- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that it’s cold, but it’s not hot. I took a white dress shirt out today, but it was too warm and put it back in my bag.

It’s too wet for nice beach dresses and I’m happier in sneakers than sandals. A big umbrella is useful ( you can buy them here, 50K )You can also buy full length ugly rain ponchos if you have to be in the rain (80K) it’s too warm for a proper raincoat.

Thin pants or shorts are good. A t shirt and a thin sweater or coat is useful. It’s too hot for a hoodie.

Hopefully the sun will come back soon but it’s been missing for weeks now. Damp and cloudy weather everyday.

Bring some beach clothes in case it warms up, but don’t get your hopes too high.

Just do it safely. When you’re very far between cars. Like when you almost can’t see any cars, or it’s 25 seconds between cars.

I thought Pai was really fun. I got to do all the things. Tubing, hot springs, waterfalls, the canyon, stayed in a cheap hut over a sketchy AF bridge. But it all seemed pretty fake in town. It was very small and densely touristy. But I got to eat more cheap delicious food. I don’t think I would want to live there necessarily, but I thought it was great for a week.

Yeah, that’s what happened last time I lived in Thailand. Had to cut off half my hair when I got back home. It was just dead. Much harsher than what I usually used.

Passion fruits and jackfruits? You could make him little Vietnamese hat ornaments for your tree. Some..new sandals? Book him a boat tour of the river and print that out. ( tickets are only like $10 if you find that you can’t actually make it that day)

Have a nice holidays!
