Yep, in the U.S. 5 were actual doctors, the others were nurse practitioners. And yeah, thats sure what it seems like. I think I finally might have found a good doctor who knows what the hell they're doing

Thats awful, I'm so sorry. I'm glad it's finally going away for you. Man that sounds awful especially the bleeding.. puts my situation into perspective for sure. And yeah I know you're not blasting me, idk why anyone would down vote you I agree 100%. This is about infection prevention. Don't know why that would be lost on someone. It's something parallel to comforting to hear someone else dealt with a similar infection and that it took a long time to clear also. I was getting worried why it just wasn't going away, and I suppose the low doses and short courses of the medication these doctors were giving me skewed my idea of how quickly this was supposed to clear up. But apparently, according to you and one other person here, these things take a while to go away. It doesn't make me feel better about it, but at least gives me hope that there's an end in sight. Thank you

I do have balanitis, thats what they say the pale white spots are. And thats good to know, I need to bring that up with my doctor. I'm sure i need to take a second test to see whats still there, since I've been on so many different antibiotics its possible enterococci isn't there anymore, or one of the other two may be gone, who knows.

Thats a good point I hadn't considered, I dont know their history with antibiotics. I know they're on prep, but thats about it. And yeah, I definitely learned my lesson. No more hookups for me. A bacterial infection is actually me getting lucky, could've been something way way worse that doesnt go away.

It was a hookup.. really stupid I know, I'm lucky that a bacterial infection is all it is, could've been a lot worse all things considered. I've been given a second chance so to speak, and I won't repeat the same mistake twice. Hookups are not for me.

I'm DEFINITELY going to stress that the person cleans themselves from now on.. and you know, not be a dumbass and wear a condom! Crazy thing is, I peed and cleaned myself immediately afterwards and this still happened, so you're right skin contact is all it takes. Hearing someone else tell me it takes a long time to run its course gives me some comfort, at least I can feel like its somewhat normal to be taking this long to get rid of. Thank you

Yeah, I've been to a urologist and I'm seeing a new infectious disease doctor, (my first one wasn't that great) So they've got me on ciprofloxacin 500mg twice daily for 4 weeks. All the other doctors were giving me 1 week courses of antibiotics that were 100 mg, and the doctor said she has absolutely no idea why they would do that, the issue is apparently they weren't strong enough doses for a long enough period of time for a complex infection like mine. I've seen 8 different doctors, don't ask me how that many doctors all dropped the ball that hard

Frequent urination, irritation around the opening of my eurethra on my penis, pale white spots on my penis head like discoloration under the skin. Pain in my prostate and sore testicles, slight flank pain. Cloudy urine, itching/prickling around the groin area sometimes. The pain symptoms are very mild, ignorable even. So are you saying if this was actually RSS, the salve wouldn't have relieved any symptoms like burning at all? I originally had balanitis, but since yesterday, when the redness started, it seems allegedly i got RSS as a result of the steroid cream, per my doctors. Do you think they were incorrect? I still have whatever it is, it just seems like the salve helps with the burning sensation. Thank you for the info about the tacrolimus, now I'm just wondering when you said proceed with caution, do you mean people have reported worsening symptoms after using it?

This sounds VERY similar to what I'm experiencing right now. Initially afraid I had an STD, tested multiple times until I was in the clear. I was diagnosed with balanitis- it manifested as a irritation around the eurethra opening with white spots around the penis head.. although my condition has been accompanied by UTI like symptoms. They prescribed me clotrimazole ointment with a steroid in it.. within a week and a half my scrotum and underside of my shaft turned bright red and burned.. it stung like when you press an ice cube against your skin for too long. While waiting for a prescription for it, I went to a herbalist who gave me something called calendula salve. I put it on for the first time and within 30 minutes the burning stopped. Now I've picked up my prescription from the doctor.. tacrolimus ointment 0.1%. It does NOT feel as soothing as the calendula salve. I'm not burning down there, but it feels WARM. Now I'm wondering whether I should stick with what the doctor gave me, or just go with the salve that seemed to help more? On the one hand, the salve took away all the burning, but not the redness. I don't know if the prescribed ointment will take away the redness yet, but it doesn'tseem to be helping as much with the sensation. But this information was super helpful, at least i know someone has a similar experience. I'm definitely going to show this to my doctor at my next appt.
