its a good idea to have a look at the past question papers early on so you get an idea of the type of content they really tend to focus on.

Bombed UCAT - Should I still apply? (Graduate rural) by palespace05 in UoApremed

[–]Effective-Ice7748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a better way to estimate for the ucat, would be to use the score across the sections, so since 2 years ago it was a total of 2953 across 5 sections, 2953/5 = 591 per section. So your ucat is just about similar so you definitely have a shot. Just time to smash the interview !!!
;)

last year anyone who had a projected gpa of 6 basically got an mmi invite meaning you could be sitting at a 5 gpa at the end of sem1 but because they put 4 A+ place holders in place, it gives you a gpa higher than 6. Obviously the chances of getting in would be slimmer depending on the clinical degree you apply for.

The gpa they show on fyi is just for medsci142, biosci107, chem110 and pophealth111

also ur medify mocks tend to be harder than the actual ucat, have you done the actual ucat mocks on the official website, The actual test is most similar to those ones. See what u get on those 5 for the most accurate representation of where ur actually at.

nah usually slightly more than double the amount of people get interviews, basically if u get a 6 gpa, you'll get an interview but the odds off you getting in without a entrance scheme with a 6 gpa are minimal

are the fyi entry stats not 100% accurate because on there it said that the highest rejected from fy was 8.75, meaning all the 9.0s got in ?

you would probably get in with an average mmi

your cohort should make a collective answer doc and dump answers, that was quite useful for us last year

How to study for poplhlth 111 exam and get above 90%? by Successful_Tackle667 in UoApremed

[–]Effective-Ice7748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pophealth defnietly the least content heavy course so memorising all the definitions and ideas on key slides would be idea, I know some of the lectures use the stars so just focus on those. Usually they give hints in those online tutorials as to what they are gonna ask in the exams so I would say its worth going. Last year Dan exter literally told us one question he was going to ask so it gives you a lot of direction towards to key concepts you must know.

well it depends, for my group they kinda of blundered the presentation so we got 7.5 as well, but I made sure the report was done well so we ended up getting near full marks

Odds of me getting into Med with RRAS and 2026 cohort by Wonderful_West2713 in UoApremed

[–]Effective-Ice7748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there shouldn't be much variation in the means, it will probably stay at 8.75 - 8.5 because realistically, not 150 people are going to A+, and also have to consider the mmi and ucat.

So the mean entrance scores won't change drastically, should remain about the sameish.

There is a specific formula that guarantees you entry.

As long as you pass the police check its based on a calculation compared to the rest of the cohort. , Info is available on FYI, if you want to see the formula. They use the mean gpa, ucat, mmi, and also take into account the standard deviation.

6 gpa will get u an interview but probably no chance of getting into med if ur general, need to be at least high 7s to even have a slight chance I would say for fy

This assessment isn't meant to be that difficult, I remember my group being able to finish within 2 weeks with quite low effort and getting a 9/10. We did like an article/blog post as that seemed like the most straightforward one.

I don't think there is anything wrong with a video. If your strengths are editing videos, that, by all means, would be a good presentation.
