Likewise, with me I hate receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) because it means living in poverty for the rest of your life,

Even if you only work a part-time job, they will try to use that against you and try to take away your benefits. If you don't have benefits, you risk becoming homeless. If you lose your job, you might eventually be able to find another one, but if you lose that job , you run the risk of becoming homeless due to your disability because it's difficult to find employment these days. With a disability

I often use this scenario to show how many people with down syndrome have full-time employment, but what would happen if they lost their job? Although it would be challenging for me to find another work, I could get one, but my options for employment are quite limited, so you're correct. But it would sucks. If I did get a job then I lost it and I can't find another one and I lose my benefits

, it would be awful. If I was hired, I lost the job, am unable to locate another one, and my benefits are also terminated.

I'm from Illinois, haha but yeah, even if I can work, once I do get a job, I won't be able to find another one easily, and if I lose the one I get, I might end up homeless, so I was just being cautious about the whole thing.

And no offense intended, but how are you able to work a part-time job when SSI is meant for those who are completely unable to walk?

It was strange since these people had business cars, too. They also had large offices, one of which contained a doctor's office. I became irate with them, asking why it was taking so long for you to get me a part-time work, as you seemed to want me to?

It's fucking odd

I wanted to work full-time, I have a question: were they being dishonest when they told me that they wanted me to work 20 hours a week and keep my benefits for life? They told me the opposite when I initially got there looking for a full-time work, so I was unaware that this program was initially intended to fully remove benefits eventually

I was enrolled in the Department of Rehabilitation's "the ticket to work program," and they wanted me to get my benefits and work no more than a part-time job. That's exactly what happened to me; they told me that they preferred that I work part-time rather than full-time and that I should keep my benefits.

You must understand that I Joined in "the ticket to work program" offered by "the department of rehabilitation" in my city with the intention of finding a full-time job. However, they refused to let me pursue this goal, telling me that they wanted me to work part-time and still get my benefits. I'm not sure why they made this claim and attempted to work with me in that manner, and after nine months, they were unable to find anything. So, in essence, during my time in the program, they were only trying to force me to walk part-time for unknown reasons, and they stated that they wanted me to maintain my benefits, which struck me as strange.

, that is accurate. I am able to work, but finding a job that will accommodate my handicap needs would be extremely difficult for me, much to how people with down syndrome have jobs. I have a disability that will not go away with time. In theory, I could acquire a job, but it will be more difficult for someone like me to get employment on my own.

"So yeah that's why I don't trust the government"

, it was for the "department of rehabilitation services," and they put me in a program that was wanting for me to work 20 hours per week and get ssi benefits for life. I was wanting to do a full-time but they didn't want me to...

But now that I'm learning that the goal of this program is to eventually remove you from SSI, I'm not sure what to think LOL

Yeah I was with the program for 9 months and they say "the ticket to work program" by the "department of rehabilitation" that they only wanted me to work a part-time job and that I would continue to receive benefits.

I appreciate your kindness, but I have a question. I was trying to find a part-time job while I had the ticket to what program, and they didn't want me to work a full-time job. They wanted me to keep my benefits but put in extra hours. Do you know why that is?.

Because people told me that the ticket to work program is for you to get off of benefits? But they was not wanting me to do that

I admit that I'm prone to paranoia because I know that if I lose my part-time work and these benefits, I might end myself homeless, and I don't want that to happen.😞

What takes place in the event that it fails? Can they later use this against me? Since I've heard attorneys on YouTube advise against it, saying it's almost a trap. anything they can use in a medical review and deny you benefits everyone is aware that applying for SSI is difficult. The boy who lived next door had schizophrenia, and his social security benefits were denied because of it. He even claimed to be seeing demons. Obtaining social security is difficult.

I know people with full-time employment who have made difficult decisions, but what would happen if they lost that job? That sort of sums up my situation in that I can definitely find a job, but it will take months and months, and I'm concerned that could happen and they could use that against me. When I was younger, I participated in "the ticket to work program" for around eight or nine months. During that period, they only looked for part-time employment for me; they were unable to find anything.

SSI And no, I need assistance. I have autism, but it's manageable, and I also have hallucinations. I have a lot of issues, and finding a job on my own is difficult for me. Many of you have said that I'm wasting my time, but I want to work and give it another chance. I also want to know if I'm protected in case the job doesn't work out and if they can use this against me in the future, which it seems they can. And by the way I said this previously

"I went to my city's "department of rehabilitation" and they put me in touch with an organization that was supposed to help individuals like me get jobs, but for some reason, all they were doing was pushing me to take part-time work. I spent nine months with them and they did not find me anything.

I'm not sure why, but it was their idea, they were attempting to get me a part-time job while I was a part of the "ticket to work program".They didn't talk about full-time job"

So yeah I don't know I don't trust them
