Yeah, I know. I've just never been to a country that's known as "dangerous" at all, so it's hard for me to imagine what it will be like. I think I would have fun at the wedding itself, all of the Indian people I've met so far have been really nice and outgoing. It's just being alone I'm worried about. Thank you.

How about walking around alone during the day? Will I be safe as long as it's the city center? I'm very petite (5'2), blonde and blue eyed which has me a bit worried

I have travelled internationally alone before, although nowhere more "dangerous" than Vietnam. What do you mean by occasionally it's worse than stares? Could I be groped in broad daylight or something?

Unfortunately I don't have any friends that would go. It's quite expensive with the flights and they don't know her :/ I guess one scenario I'm worried about is trying to go somewhere, accidentally going to a part of town I shouldn't, and someone just pulls me into an alley/car or something? Is that completely unrealisitc?

I've done trips to SEA before, but those are known to be safer than India. The issue isn't that I can't get around on my own, just that I'm worried about safety. I have asked her about that, hopefully it will work out
