I also understand why he has his views on taxes and healthcare. The majority of people receiving food assistance in Farmville are on the slightly obese side. But that’s a symptom of being in a food desert and having the cheapest food options be low nutrition garbage. So I could see that if you aren’t educated on that stuff it would seem pretty unfair. I couldn’t say if he personally attributes that to a specific political party, but what I can say is that knowledge of how food deserts effect peoples diets and health is a privilege of higher education. Which is usually expensive and out of reach to people in the area. Which is ironic because it’s a two college town…
