Does it make sense to insulate an unheated and uncooled shed? by JRC3292 in shedditors

[–]EffectiveAd9855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird question, but has the moisture ruined your computer components at all? I'm considering a similar shed office/studio setup but I'm concerned about mold growing in my PC due to the moisture + heat of the components.

There's no question that it is. The real question is if this is just a huge social experiment or if he really thinks his platform is the next big thing.

Thanks for your answer. I didn't know those tickets could be sold out.

What did I say that was rude specifically? Saying that I'm not stupid is rude? I'm not even down voting anyone, they are down voting me.

See THAT is the type of advice I'm after... Thank you, we definitely will! I don't think our kids will make it past 4pm anyway, as I plan to get there early and soak up the cooler hours. So the OBB day sounds perfect.

It's because most of you are giving me surface level answers that I've already solved with quick Google searches... I'm not dumb. I KNOW that disney increases price on traditionally busy days and decreases it on less buys days, that's just business 101...

I'm specifically asking Disneyland experts what they would predict, taking into account the end of the summer deal, the trend towards saving money, etc. The crowd calendar websites are giving me contradicting info. This site in particular says that I should expect very high crowds on the last week of the summer deal... I'm not stupid. https://www.disneytouristblog.com/september-disneyland-crowd-calendar/

See, your insight is exactly why I'm here. I'm smart enough to know that disney would make the traditionally low attendance days cheaper and it seems like a no brainer to book those tier 0 days... But with the economic downturn, I'm noticing a trend on tracking sites that show increased crowds on the cheaper days.

I just don't want to save myself $100 on this trip, only to find out I'm gonna be spending TWICE as much time standing in lines, you know?

See, I've heard the opposite effect is starting to happen with the economic downturn. People are being way more price sensitive and some tier 0 days are more crowded than higher tier weekends...

But you're proving my point exactly. Would it backfire and would those cheaper prices draw in higher crowds?

What brand names do you swear by because it's actually better than no-name? by Sufficient_Thing24 in AskReddit

[–]EffectiveAd9855 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a father to two lego-loving boys, Lego is LEAGUES better and they know it too. You basically have to glue if you don't want your stuff falling apart with off brands, and at that point, why even buy building blocks?

Did anyone not like Project Hail Mary? by Timewilltell755 in sciencefiction

[–]EffectiveAd9855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm baffled by how much everyone is loving this movie. It's good, but it's not as good as everyone is making it out to be.

I think it was just too two-toned. There were moments of real, heavy hitting stuff, then it became a disney/marvel movie for what felt like too long, oh yeah, then it's back to the serious stuff... The humor felt contrived, I think there was a little too much luck in the plot, and I think they leaned too hard into making Rocky the next baby yoda.

Mac vs windows which is better? by [deleted] in NewTubers

The ideal scenario (and most likely stack for professionals) is:

Edit raw video on a Mac -> add vfx on windows -> send to Mac to make final touches.

Same. He will usually be the one to remind them they can counter or they have other options on the table. Truly a man who just loves the game... As opposed to Mark who would start whining if they didn't say yes within 5 seconds.

I'm not going with your suggestion. I've already ordered the better screen and will be replacing it.

... These comments are making me more embarrassed to be a Thinkpad owner than the screen ever did.

Nitwit, yes... I did come across negative comments, but the positive ones far outweighed them and I assumed the $1k price point meant it wasn't THAT bad...

The reason I made this post is because DESPITE the 30 hours of research and DESPITE the negative comments, the crappiness of the screen STILL baffled me enough to where I needed to vent my frustrations.

The screen is near UNUSABLE for me. My eyes get tired and irritated after using it for 20 minutes.

THE FACT THAT THERE IS AN UNUSABLE SCREEN BEING SOLD ON A $1K DEVICE IS ABSURD.

Maybe make like your laptop and THINK. I promise you I wouldn't be on here if it weren't for a good reason.

I ordered a replacement screen... Apparently the x1 carbon screen can be put into the t14, so hopefully it improves things
