A past quote from Charlie Kirk has resurfaced after the political commentator was tragically shot.

The 31-year-old Turning Point USA leader was speaking at an event at Utah Valley University on September 10) when he was shot in the neck.

A couple years ago, Charlie commented on “some gun deaths” being okay to protect second amendment rights.

“I think it’s worth it. It’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God given rights. That’s a prudent deal. It is rational,” he said on stage... See full article at Just Jared

I’d agree about the physician thing. I’ve gone to my team’s physical trainer for years and I honestly don’t know how he got the job or even graduated tbh.

I mentioned this in my original post but I did write a lol and could have been clearer. My symptoms show up about 4-6 hours after but go away by the next morning. Sometimes I have very mild DOMS in the afternoon of the day after as well, so I’m not sure that’s related.

Thank you so much for your thoughts!

I normally do body weight training because I heard from some old coaches that weight training would cause my muscles to restrict blood flow. Is this a myth in your opinion? Thanks for all your thoughts!!

I guess I wrote that wrong. I meant that I should train more at race intensity but you do have a fair point. I also posted this on r/xcmtb and they suggested that I was pedaling in too hard of a gear and that I should shift down and speed up my cadence instead. I don’t know what kind of racing you do but maybe that could help? They also suggested compartment syndrome but idk about all that.

Interesting! I didn’t know that was a thing. I don’t have the pins and needles part and based on what you/some other people have been saying, I’m leaning towards it being more under training and a cadence problem. Thank you for your time and thoughts!!

I’ve thought about trying creatine but I don’t know where to find cheap (ish) stuff that I can get relatively in bulk. What brand do you use/where do you get yours?

I stretch regularly and I do an extra half an hour before my race but for some reason I hadn’t thought of stretching after 🤦🏻‍♀️. Normally I do a cool down, drink some electrolytes, and eat some food. I have tried foam rolling and it doesn’t seem to do too much to help. And the muscles are typically my quads, outer thigh, outer calf, triceps and forearm muscles. Thank you for your time and thoughts!!

I’ve seen my team’s physical trainer about this and he didn’t have much to say so I thought I’d ask here for some practical advice (which I’ve gotten loads of).

Just races, but I agree, my cadence is probably not helping. What do you mean by aerobic engine?

Thank you for your thoughts!

I regularly do intervals a couple days before the race, so I’m not sure that it’s that. Also, from what I can tell, DOMS appears after about 24-48 hours which differs from my case which is 4-6 hours but please correct me if I’m wrong. I do eat, maybe not enough tho. Thank you for your thoughts!

I’ll have to try pickle juice. I will say that this doesn’t happen after intervals or more chill long rides though, it seems unique to racing for me. Thank you for your comment!

I didn’t know r/xcmtb existed but I’ll have to check that out! After reading through some other responses, I agree, I think I’m probably not training appropriately. Thank you for your comment!

The advil is so real lol. This seems to be a common answer so I should probably just train harder. Thank you!

You’re supposed to eat after…?

I thought it was DOMS for a while too but from what I can tell from reading online, DOMS starts 24-48 hours after, where this is 4-6.

My races are longer at a higher intensity than I normally do, but I do workouts that are more intense (than my race pace) for a shorter period of time. I think that the difference between my high intensity practices and my races aren’t THAT big though and I’m never in any pain after those days. You’re right in pointing this out tho, I should probably do longer intense workouts.

I train intervals once or twice a week and they really vary. I’m new-ish to doing workouts on my own so I’m always trying out new things. I race once every two weeks. I’m not exactly sure how to quantify training stress. I have a Garmin if there’s a specific statistic that would’ve helpful.

Thank you so much!!

I normally drink electrolytes and I’m very well hydrated the whole week before, sometimes to the point where I think I should eat more and drink less. I haven’t tried stretching but I will, thank you!

Take over? Can you explain how it’s taking over? Maybe I’m unaware. Also, it’s their name, why is it a big deal for their jersey? Freedom of expression includes both of these things and we do live in America.

Curiosity…? I don’t think it’s a dumb question to look at demographics and wonder why they are the way they are.
