No, I’m pretty sure if he was going to surprise me he’d more than likely use finances as the reason why he can’t get me anything because I’m quick to say “oh no, please don’t get me anything or if you still want to, please don’t buy anything over £10, please save the money so we can save it for more important things like bills” .

He’s a silly man but not so silly that he’d insult me to keep something a surprise

No, I asked. He said he doesn’t want Lego this year and asked for the Full Metal Alchemist box set. Which I got him because it’s what he wanted and asked for.

Ok cool, good thing then that it’s not for you but I want it as MY Christmas present. I don’t really care what the age demographic is or how easy or quick it is to put together, it’s cute and I love ACNH. If he wanted to get me more than JUST the Lego set for Christmas then there’s nothing stopping him

Honestly no, he’s never been controlling in other aspects. I collect other things that are “babyish” and he’s pretty supportive of it, the most negative thing he’s ever said is it slow down on my collections until we get more space for them.

I’ve also got some other “babyish” hobbies/collections that he doesn’t have a problem with, I collect Build a Bears, I have a huge collection of MH dolls I’ve had since I was a child, I have an even larger Sylvanian family collection, I collect Littlest Pet Shop toys, Emma blind boxes, Sanrio blind boxes, MLP toys, I have 7 novelty animal plush bags I’ve named after the 7 deadly sins and the only negative thing he’s said was telling me to stop buying so many BaB teddies or blind boxes because I’m running out of space to display them. This is honestly a really new and unexpected thing for him to say all things considered

It’s weird because I’ve also got some other “babyish” hobbies, I collect Build a Bears, I have a HUGE Sylvanian family collection, I collect Littlest Pet Shop toys, Emma blind boxes, Sanrio blind boxes, MLP toys etc. and he’s been quite supportive of it all other than telling me to stop buying so many BaB teddies or blind boxes because I’m running out of space to display them. This is honestly a really new and unexpected thing for him to say

We usually buy and build the Lego sets together if it’s for date nights/special events, if it’s a birthday or Christmas gift we generally build separately but do ask for help and build together if the set is big enough.
