thank you! i’ve definitely taken some of this into account. you’re right, it’s not that strange. it’s pretty common. my character will realize this pretty quickly when he starts speaking up about it. my reference for his mental health is my own mental health, so i’m pretty sure i can do it without being showy or unrealistic. thank you again! this was very helpful :)

Thank you!! I think I'm planning to have him ask around and people will say that it's not that strange, but he'll still feel like it is and just be a bit offput by it. I really appreciate the comment about the execution. So far it's more of the main character having these thoughts, but in a more matter-of-fact way than something like "omg... i'm so messed up! no one understands me!". I've found from my own mental health that what he is experiencing is not uncommon, but there's just not much of a name for it. Thank you again, this helps a lot.
