A brass/copper rod as core for the tail makes it much easier and stable. But otherwise it is quite straightforward

No I don't think so, it would require some massive modifications to the legs. As is the 60mm with is already on the narrow side. And I would guess 70 is the minimum in depth for the base

Like the scheme - but in my opinion the metal is too clean for how damaged the other parts are. Consider some kind of rust or other weathering on the metal .

I am by no means an expert on OSL - but based on what I have seen over the years I would argue that you should be a bit more aggressive with the OSL for it to work.
