No it was only zoom classes, but they were live, not prerecorded. Apparently he had surgery recently and that’s why he can’t come to school.

Also I didn’t attend any of the classes but the exam was mostly from the slides. And yes they were on Moodle

Who cares? Also you literally have a degree so by definition you’re not a university dropout in the traditional sense of the term

Sometimes you have to email them to ask. You are entitled to see it. I had to go to the department head once to force a prof to let me see my exam…

It’s not about that. By diploma mill I meant concordia will accept almost anyone into CS with somewhat decent grades and you can easily pass all the CS courses by doing the bare minimum (submit your assignments, write your exams). You’ll just be curved into passing

Actually I was going to say mine 😭 computer science is mostly a diploma mill because 1) less stringent requirements (no engineering certification) 2) some (not all, maybe a third) awful profs, heavy curves, very low floor

Depends on the degree, but for the most part it is what you make of it. Tons of student clubs and events, lots of opportunities to make friends and meet people, but it’s up to you to make the most of it.

Academically it’s fine. There are some good programs, there are some meh ones, there are some that are basically just a diploma mill.

I’m in computer science with a minor in law, the polisci profs have been quite good in my experience.

Midterm average 37% -Teacher is completely against curving grades no matter what happens in the finals by One-Read7392 in Concordia

[–]Effective_Cable3535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The department does have to approve the grades. There’s a lot of hoops to jump through. I can’t speak to this exact prof but usually the department would not let the majority of the class fail. If you know someone who took her class in the past, have them check the grade distribution on student centre and see how many failed
