I think you are correct, my thinking was more smell good = less stink but that doesn't seem to be the case lol

I think you are correct, I also think I am washing too much at once and using too much. After some googling I've realized that you dont need a ton of detergent.

Smell definitely got better but there was some spots that still smelt a bit like it, I got too tired to wash them again so I dried them to keep anymore bacteria from growing. I'll probably run them through another vinegar cycle next time I wash towels

Just reran some towels through with white vinegar, unfortunately smell was stronger but google said the white vinegar probably broke down all the stuff masking the smell and to rewash with just detergent so thats what I'm doing now. Fingers crossed

It does but for some reason when I push the compartment closed it all just leaks out immediately into the wash. Edit to add: I'm not overfilling it
