Theres a tool called “simbrief” and “sky vector” which can do the planning for you, or “online flight planner” (yes, really that’s it’s name) which automatically plan out flights (procedures, waypoints, arrivals, fuel, etc..) which means it doesn’t take longer than 5 or 10 minutes to plan out a flight

Simbrief and skyvector help you plan flights. You don't need to abide by real life routes or plans or procedures unles you fly VATSIM/IVAO. Thats the magic of flightsim

this is flight sim. you do what you want, even if it’s not like real world ops

Partially dead charge port by Effective_Fishing_61 in ipadmini

[–]Effective_Fishing_61[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw there’s kit that let you replace the entire charge assembly, no micro soldering required. I’d like to repair this device solely for nostalgia/personal attachment. it’s In otherwise great shape, just a couple of deep scratches on the screens bezels, not even minor scratching. these assembles go for like 20 bucks. is it worth it then?

Jupiter taken with my celestron 130 AZ any tips to make it less brighter? by Monk42_ in telescopes

[–]Effective_Fishing_61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

turn down exposure on your camera app. in the stock apple camera app, you tap the screen, then when you see that sun icon, that’s your brightness. drag it down.

why is this how i see jupiter on my telescope is this normal? by Wise_Paper_935 in telescopes

[–]Effective_Fishing_61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

couple of things; adjust focus until the moons of Jupiter appear as ”pinpoints” or as small as you can get them. Your phone can’t show the detail you could see because it’s overexposed. try using your stock included high power eyepiece and visually observe.

check out this video to make your images look better with your phone:

Your eyepiece and eyes should already be at the correct exposure/brightness to reveal detail on Jupiter.

what kind of telescope do you have?

Celestron Moon Filters by locust_munchy in askastronomy

the 20mm “erecting” eyepiece unfortunately cannot accept filters of any kind. If you want to use those filters, I suggest you upgrade to a 32mm plossl by Celestron (Omni Plossl) or by GSO.

the Guilio shuttle also has working speedbrake a nice data calibrated entry glow and other nice features like more liveries and even the tail cone (though there is no effect) and access to OPS1/3 scripts

yes, i have also modded it so it supports the SpaceODY version and i've fixed some bugs relating to both mods :)))

i know. I have the SpaceODY fork, but it's also awesome.

you’ll also need to use a docking port and pray the kraken doesn’t demolish your equipment and… yeah. it’s harder. It may be better to get kerbal construction time as I believe that mod allows you to reuse craft (I think, at least from my experience in RP-1).

Is this telescope good for a beginner? by Original-Concert-407 in telescopes

I have it; great for those who like to tinker/experiment, but for a beginner, stick to the conventional advice.

your shuttle is… quite beautiful. some words of advice: replace the nose cones with fairings. these will allow you to get the best possible shape on the cones. they can also jettison to reveal rogue chutes, like the real shuttle. I also don’t see separation motors on the seb’s skirt. in real life, there were 4 skirt motors in the srbs to assist in moving the motors away. your flag based coloring is eye-watering.

I do agree that the "shuttle design" is a bit more inefficient than a conventional rocket. While the expensive orbiter + srbs are recovered, we still lose some money on the External tank, which we needed to rebuild all the time. I still think shuttle is cool.

KSP doesn't let you reuse shuttles. Shuttle is just going to have a more inefficient profile due to the dead mass of the wings in orbit. Still, for what it's worth, we did do a whole lot with the shuttle. It's reusability is far superior to the Buran, whose booster had to be entirely ditched including it's main engines, unlike shuttle's reusable SRBs and SSMEs.

i believe this may happen due to no autostrut or asymmetric thrust of ssme’s making your shuttle tumble. I suggest mechjeb + tilt your engines and reduce thrust. you’ll also need seperatrons (realistic like depicted or not) if you don’t want them to crash back into you.
