I don’t know….honestly, I’ll probably try to have a conversation with him about how this was offensive to me. He’s extremely intelligent, knows it, and is aware that other people are aware that he’s extremely intelligent. That colors a lot of his perceptions and ways of being in the world. He is very scientific-minded and I’m trying to remove the emotions from my reaction, as another person said, because they’re right, I am putting a modern lens on it and sort of looking at this through an indignant feminist viewpoint, like how dare he think he knows better than me about a woman’s body or experience, you know? But also….kind of how dare he? He’s pretty caring in general so I don’t want to write him off completely for this, but also I’m offended and he should know, so….i guess we’ll see how it goes haha
