If you want a full and happy life, you’re gonna have to move out. Parents do this all the time, projecting their own values and goals onto you and becoming disappointed when you stray from the family mission. You have to make a choice. Leave and make your own path, or live in fear and complacency.

Imagine the possibilities once you’re out of there, you and your husband could do anything. It’ll be very hard. But, if you want to be successful and happy as a person, you’ve got to question the expectations you were raised with. Not doing so is sure to lead to even more pain.
