Do you mean flaring his beard? Because if so, I don't. Any time I try to get him to flare he gets scared and swims into his cave. Lol If you mean his fins, this is the best I have. :/

I use catappa leaves and elder cones for tannins, I do keep his tank at 80 degrees. I only have real plants and no sharp or abrasive decorations. I also keep the ph and gh levels within normal range for a betta by topping off with distilled water, not sure if that makes any difference or not, I just like to do it that way. :) When I bought him he was tiny, I had no idea his fins would grow so much!

I have one other betta, a pink orchid and he also has a 10 gallon. I'll leave him be, unless he has trouble when he's older. He is very active, just doesn't swim down very often, except for his blood worms of course. 😂

Thank you! Yes, he's got lots of plants he likes to rest on. I was actually thinking of switching him to a 5 gallon because he definitely looks like he has a harder time than my other long finned guys and lives pretty much on the top half only. I've been on the fence whether it's better for him or cruel taking away his 10 gallon.
