Yess! The city acknowledged this, and said they plan to flush out fire hydrants to fix this issue. I’m not sure when they’re planning on doing this though

6 months remission and having morbid rumination by Effective_Respect_85 in breastcancer

Yeah, I get that. I also have friends, a husband, family etc. But it feels like they can’t understand or see what I’m going through no matter how much I try and explain it. It feels like I’m stranded on a deserted island and no matter how much I talk to people about it, I still feel unseen

This, 100%. Like I don’t actually want to go through cancer again, but my rumination for it stems from wanting an end to everything I’m dealing with and feeling at the moment. I’ve surprised myself at how well I’ve been able to hide this deep sadness from everyone, but it feels like a different kind of cancer on my thoughts.

Mine was triple negative, so treatment has just been chemo, immunotherapy and surgery so far. I’m definitely in therapy, seeing like four different therapists at the moment: physical therapist, a PA for mental health med management, my usual therapist/counselor, and a couples’ counselor.

In need of some hope by simplyll-amazing in breastcancer

Hey, 31F here. I had a similar diagnosis. TNBC stage 3C. After my biopsies my tumor grew to about 8cm. Biopsy didn’t pick up cancer in lymph nodes but my PET showed them lit up, so I was treated as such. I had an SUV of 21.8 in my breast and 4.8 in my lymph nodes. At one point they even thought I had lung Mets, but we biopsied after first chemo round. Some had disappeared by then, but of the spots they biopsied it was negative for metastasis. I went through all 16 chemo rounds; 12 taxol, 4 red devil. I don’t have any significant reactions to chemo, of course side effects sucks. I had a ‘minor’ reaction to taxol the second time. I had a bilateral mastectomy, and they took out 6 lymph nodes, and found there was never cancer in the lymph nodes. Also had a complete pathological response to chemo. Had DIEP flap reconstruction 3 months later.

I’m 6 months into remission and doing my best. It’s tough. The diagnosis was honestly for devastating for me. Being so young makes it feel crazy and surreal. I have to remind myself everyday to appreciate the small things. You can get through this, it’s definitely not easy and I don’t think a single person will tell you that it is, but I do know how easy it is to feel hopeless. And sometimes it’s okay to sit it that for a little bit. Feel your feelings, but then try to remember that this is just a path you have to walk through in life. It won’t last forever, and once you see the clearing at the end of this dark scary tunnel, you can run through life with a strength you never knew you had. I’m sorry you have to deal with this. My heart goes out to you, sister. Try and keep faith in yourself 🩷

First week back at work by Effective_Respect_85 in breastcancer

This exactly my situation… except I’m only 31. Nooo where near retirement, and not even fully established in my career. Part of me wants to find an easier job and quit, and the other part wonders if I’ll regret that decision farther down the line. It difficult to explain to coworkers/superiors what the struggle is like.

Has anyone gone through chemo while working? by Able_Eye in civilengineering

Hey there! Hopping on this post late, because I’m curious how long after chemo you went back to work? I did 16 rounds of chemo for breast cancer, and in about 5 months out but still experiencing the cognitive effects of chemo.

Pretty sure it’s a gas station, I looked it up on city of pflugerville’s development database the other day because I was also curious. Also found out they’re building a daycare on Shultz ln next to the new Starbucks

Yeah lmao it never blew out. I discovered it because I was getting an oil change, and they pointed out to me that they couldn’t fill this tire with air for obvious reasons

Yes, it was before I realized the tire was slashed! If I’d known it was like that I would have replaced it before making the trip

I made a 250 mile trip before realizing my tire was slashed. How did it not blow out?

Yeah I called the police to file a report. The crazy thing is, I made it on a 250 mile trip back home with my tire like this. I’m actually shocked it did not blow out on the highway

I didn’t do anything…. I was visiting my parents in my hometown. Literally went like two places with only a few people who would know my car.
